I sure hope my thread title isn't quoted as a source for this news channel. Just imagine the headline:

"EoFF agrees that Nintendo targets youngsters!"

u_u; Blech.

Destroyed TV sets, and now the corruption of young minds through porn. However much rap the PS3 might be getting, it's nothing compared to the madness that is the Wii so far.

While they are blowing things pretty big, I think the deal is that the consoels don't yet have those kinds of parental limits on them.

PCs have things like NetNanny or whatever to block access to certain types of sites, but the PSP/PS3/Wii don't have/can't use that software. All this hubbub in the media will probably prompt something like this to be installed in future updates of the systems' browsers, though.

Indeed, that is the most likely case. But of course, it is sad that going to the News Channel won't make porn fly into my face. :(

It's almost as if you can't download porn on your computer, because it's Wii exclusive!

you gotta be shytting me. If I want porn, I'll use my laptop, I mean seriously. Of course, the internet is for porn, so if you have internet on something, that becomes for porn too. But the fact that the thing has these two 8 year old girls. Unless the kid is looking for porn, it's not going to randomly pop up there. And chances are when the kid is old enough to want to see porn, the big tv in the living room is not the place to watch it. Seriously people, take some responsibility on yourself. "Nintendo failed us for not having adult restrictions." No you fail if that's an issue with your kid. You're a bad parent.

The funny thing is now, because of this story, everyone will no porn isn't blocked on the Wii. Now the amount of people who watch porn on it will undoughtably increase, thus giving them reason to do another segment on it to fill up time. I mean I love tentacle hentai and Cat Girls, and I didn't even think to look that up on a Wii. What makes people think little kids will come across that Idea?

Though now when I get one I'll be able to get sexy backrounds and Icons and whatever else I can get on it.

The Parental Controls can block use of the Internet channel, so it's the fault of the parents, again. This is just another cheap shot at the gaming industry.

I'll start to worry when Nintendo releases

Link in the Mushroom Kingdom: A Link and Mario Love Saga.

As he mentioned, the parental controls will block access to the internet channel itself, not particular types of sites. Parents may not have even known that it exists.

Still, it's a little more obscure for a kid to 'randomly' come across porn on a Wii, they have a better chance if they go buy Madden (http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/31/xxx-madden-gag-spoils-kids-xmas/).

Hearing the porn sites are made to fit the wii was kinda funny.

Porn on the Wii? Now I know I want one!

I learned about porn and all that back in elementary school. We all knew about it, and chances are your kid knows too. Besides, at that age, if they don't know what it is, they'll probably make a disgusted face and either bring it to your attention or leave the site.

And at that age, should you really leave them alone long enough for them o look at that stuff? Nintendo should put in parental controls and such, but I think we're fine for now.
