I haven't been banned before, but I've been under the impression that it would mean no logging on under the screenname, doomed to lurk amid purplish brown and black, which hurts the eyses, forever.

You've been EoEO banned before, so you should know how it works. :D It's basically the same except it applies to the whole forum. They can log on, but all they see is their ban message and the date it will be lifted on, which is never in this case.

But yeah, this is what we have the feedback forum (or PM's) for u guyz.
