They're making an FF1 for the PSP. Does anyone care? (Does anyone actually own a PSP?)

According to http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3156429 they're redoing the graphics AGAIN. I think the graphics in the remakes they've already done are pretty amazingly nice already. They're really pushing how nice they can make a sprite look. Then again who knows.

Sadly if they released this re-re-re-remake for a system other than the PSP I'd probably buy it. Which would make the fifth time I've paid for FF1.

IF I'm going to buy a PSP for FFT, I might as well pick this one up to see if they really improved it a bit.
So far the graphics look nice, but I think that will be the only new stuff. All other things come from former rereleases.

Then again, what otehr new stuff can they add? Soul of Chaos already was plenty.

Maybe they can reduce the difficulty level again. It may still be too hard for one or two people in the world.

Screens and more information on both PSP remakes here. (http://forums.eyesonff.com/showthread.php?t=100455)

Thanks for the link to the screenshots. Those do look quite a bit different from the other remakes.

I really really dislike the "tilted world map" view. I've never liked it in any game that had it. I am happy they're staying true to the original graphics as much as they are otherwise. The imps are in the same pose as they were in the NES version.

I hope they port it to the PS2 or something. I can't bring myself to spend $300 just to play FF1 with nicer graphics.

I agree on the perspective world map view, it always looks cheap giving an inherently 2D game a 3D plane for all of the worldly features to sit bland and perfectly flat on. Other than that, I think the graphics look very beautiful. The sprites look more like drawings than they do sprites, and the town graphics look very impressive. I'm always happy when more games come out that make my PSP worth having. The PSP library needs all the help it can get.

New Amano art. Tasty. But I'm not gonna buy a PSP just for those.

I just hope that it would be more in tune with Origins. However, since the extra dungeons will also appear here, I just hope that S-E would actually just make the levels up to 50, then, the dungeons would be available on a separate game play mode, which I would dub "Beyond" version.

Chances of splitting the extra dungeons into its own game mode are slim, I would imagine. If they even have easy/hard mode in terms of exp/level and magic/level and item costs, I'd be content.
