A geomancer, black belt, thief, and ranger? (How did they ever meet up?)

Im just simply talking about party combos, we all know what really brought our heroes together (they were BORED!)

Sage and Scholar make sense. And maybe the Ninja and Viking(closest to pirate) were in a feud and decided to put aside their differences and fight together because of how deadly they'd be. They were then hired to stop the research that the Scholar was doing, with help from the Sage. Found them, learned the research was of the dreadful state of the world, and went out to save it!

There, makes perfect sense to me!
