Use protect and haste lots. Saved my party several times (in boss battles).

Changed it a bit to suit the way I play.:)

Nah.. it's boring as hell to level up just with Vaan.

Level 10 is perfectly adequate for the Palace. Level up to 20 in Lhusu mines, to 30 in Lhusu and Nam Yensa close to Raythwall. Much less boring and a lot more gil to be had :D

DONT ATTACK THE DINOSAUR REALLY EARLY

hahahah I wonder what percentage of people playing this game did just that. That dino scared the poopy out of me- it should be noted that that dino is pretty much the only baddie you will be able to encounter that is way too difficult for the likely lvl u'd be at at the time. I was scared it was going to keep on happening.

Renmiri only has part of her advice right--actually, try to get all of your Augments, not just the HP bonuses, first. As you progress in the game, yeah, unlock and learn what magic/weapons/armor that you need, but those Augments, man, will always are active once you active their little squares.

I also recommend trying to have all your characters hightail it to their Quickenings on the License Board; every Quickening gives your characters another Mist Charge, with the second Charge doubling your MP and then your third one tripling your the total of your first Charge.

you should do augments first on the license board and head straight for the HP+ and Battle Lore augments

Dont be cheap and overpower your characters with Deathbringers.

Its much funner when your not focusing on building up your characters but focusing on the storyline and when it comes to hard battles just using your head and good strategy to beat it.

I did the HP first, also added Horology and Poach, which got me much loot. Then the rest of the Augments. :D

You have to buy the spells from shops or merchants, and you also have to spend your License Points to get the proper license to use the spell.

Spells become available based on:

A) location

B) storyline...God, I wish I would have known this one before staggering through bloody Nabudis...

DO NOT CAST MAGIC NEAR ENTITES OR ELEMENTALS. YOU WILL GET YOUR ASS HANDED TO YOU IF YOU'RE LOWER THAN LEVEL FORTY.

...at least I did. Apparently, Vox was not the correct solution to Silence...

Spend money on the Monographies. It's worth every gil!!!

Same for Poach but watch it: Poach gets you good loot at the expense of Experience

I wonder what the difference to this game is compared to other Final Fantasy. Hmm what to the people in the beginners hall have to say about this.

FFXII requires grinding 5-6 levels between missions. Other FF games do not, AFAIK

Biggest difference is the battle system. It plays more like an MMORPG rather than a traditional Final Fantasy.

For those who wish to level up fast with lots of loot thrown in to the mix, go to lushu mine to the second bridge (one with lots of skeletons )keep killing them for lots of xp (123+) (1lp) steal bone fragments (99 wil give you gil 8000+). I did this for 15min went up 2 levels and did a 115 combo to boot, at 50+ the loot they drop casts protect or shield or health every now and then.

No kidding! I spent a long time poaching enemies around archades to realize suddenly I hadn't levelled up in a couple of hours >:[ So then it was on with the embroidered tippits and all was well.

(I was still broke afterwards >:[ This game keeps you in perpetual poverty!)

I'm getting into runescape now and days as for the mmorpg's. But whats everyones favorite charater in FF12. Also is there a deadly summon like FF7's Knights of the round or FF8's eden?
