Intoxicated? Shark? You must be referring to this atrocity. (http://www.n-chicken.net/features/streetsharks/part1/part1.shtml)

Shame they couldn't preserve it ... but if it's used to the pressure of the deep sea I doubt it could survive anyways.

I wonder why it surfaced...

I wonder what else is down there.

Where's Steve Zissou when you need him?

Not quite as interesting as some of the other deep-sea creatures, but intriguing and still very bizarre nonetheless.

But where does it say the shark was "on the sauce" ?

Intoxicated doesn't always mean inhebriated, it just means that that the shark was poisoned.

to affect temporarily with diminished physical and mental control by means of alcoholic liquor, a drug, or another substance, esp. to excite or stupefy with liquor.

Indeed it's main use refers to alcohol, but the shark could have eaten some bad fish, or eaten something horrible, dumped by humans, a bad plant, been stung or peirced by another deepsea creature...but
consider that literally when you drink you're poisoning yourself and you can die if you injest enough.

So as interesting a thought it is to think a shark would be partyin' it up on the sea floor; I have my serious doubts.

I feel sorry for the thing. He/she must be pretty lonely. :(

Anyway, I love this kind of news. They're pretty exciting. Like when they found Mammoth from the ice in Siberia etc.

It that the eel-shark thang?

Bunny
01-25-2007, 07:28 PM
No it's the shark-shark thing. God what is wrong with the English? Do you not know how to spell properly or what?

Quindiana Jones
01-25-2007, 07:31 PM
Silly Bunny. Thang is far sexier, so needed to be used when talking about shark-eels.

So what's this story I've heard about a shark-eel thang? It was just a really long shark basically, but have an eely face with shark teeth. I thought it was mighty fine.

It's possible this shark-shark thing evolved from an eel but allow me to educate your puny little brain.

Eel
1. any of numerous elongated, snakelike marine or freshwater fishes
2. lack pelvic fins
3. Birthing means: lays eggs

Shark
1. Any of numerous chiefly marine carnivorous fishes of the class Chondrichthyes (subclass Elasmobranchii), which are sometimes large and voracious and have a streamlined torpedolike body, five to seven gill openings on each side of the head, a large oil-filled liver, a cartilaginous skeleton, and tough skin covered with small toothlike scales.
2. heterocercal caudal fins
3. Birthing means: Interuterine, umbilical, live birth.

Thus the shark can not be an eel, it can only be a shark.

You may compare this similarity to the difference between some snakes and other reptiles. There are lizards that look snake like but becaue of key anatomical differences they are not snakes.

Are you agreeing with me, Chemical?

'cause that's neat if you are.

If you aren't though.. :(

It's not my puny brain, I'm just saying what I heard from the breif encounter with the news that I saw.

No, it appears to be a Relicanth. You know, that useless fish Pokémon that is only used in a puzzle.

Hm...is it me, or does the shark remind you of that scary eel creature in one of the water levels in the old Mario 64 game for N64? You know, the one that lives in the big sunken ship. Creepy thing...

Was there some kind of food to do with Street Sharks? Like crisps or summat? They seem familiar to me, but not in a TV sense. When I clicked that link I remembered crisp tastings in my mouthsies.
