I only freeball in the right pants. In something like jeans it's dangerous and produces a non-pleasant sensation.

As for the question of hygiene. I could see it being more hygenic considering the sack sweat isn't coagulating all in one place. If you are extra active and wearing briefs that could definitely get unhygenic quickly.
