Actually, they are not arachnids. They are arthopods. So that makes them ants. I saw a few, yes, a FEW whilst I was in Iraq. I would have taken a picture, but my camera melted. It is usually close to 160 degrees farenheit in the desert I was stationed in, so as you can imagine, the camera's flim was liquified.
So here is the topic...what would you do if you saw one of these things? Is this the scariest thing you have ever seen?

There was no where to plug in a digital camera in the middle of the desert.

Yeah my brother buddy is over there, and he was telling me about how they have fights between the spiders and scorpians. He said the spiders usually win.

Jump out of my skin. I don't like large insects, and I like large arachnids even less. :eep:

Bearing in mind, the average human being is capable of about double that, I'd say so. but it'd be better for all involved that it does run away. Otherwise...SQUISHY!

Do I really have to say this?

Camel Spiders don't get that big. The biggest I've seen is about the size of a whopper at Burger King. You generally won't see them at all during the day, but if you're around gravel at night you can here them walking across it in the dark. They can take out scorpions. Especially the little green/clear ones. They won't eat you. They're bite is numbing, but you're still going to feel it at first, and they won't eat your flesh.

etc etc

I read the pages, I know the truth of the matter. I just don't like bugs. Or spiders...what have you.

I showed this to my brother awhile ago when he was in Iraq. He hates spiders. He kinda stopped talking to me for awhile.

Camel spiders are just looking for shade, aren't they? I didn't think they attacked if you remained still.

I recall stepping on hordes of ants as a young boy; these would prove to be most difficult to find under your foot.
