01-31-07 NEVER FORGET

Did anyone see their national apology on TV? Someone's getting FIRED.

I like that description.

"It had a very sinister appearance," Coakley told reporters. "It had a battery behind it, and wires."

If it has lights, it's bound to have batteries and wires behind it. The only thing sinister about them at all is the quadlaser.

Still, they should have known that people would react like this. Paranoia strikes deep.

I caught the tail end of that, the last screen a few seconds before the [adult swim] logo. I was actually 1/2 asleep with my back turned to the TV, but then there was a long silence so I looked at the screen. I read it and was a little confused, they were apologizing for something in Boston. Then I went back to sleep.

Now I know :P Wow.

There's already Tshirts and buttons and stuff out for this. I want the tshirt that says '1-31-07 Never Forget'.

Seriously, the fact that this actually scared people made me just fall down laughing. I mean, how pathetic can people get?

What those retarded Boston officials fail to acknowledge is that those things were in nine other cities for weeks without any sort of incident. The Boston officials and Boston media freaked out about them, and now the embarrassed mayor, caught being a complete fool, is trying to lay the blame on the show producers. He's like the whiney, spoiled kid who blames everything he does wrong on someone else.

The after reaction is just crazy.... trying hit two people with 'hoax' charges?! Good grief.

However, their reactions during the situation I can commend. From what I have read on this the City was not aware of the advertising campaign. And they reacted appropriately[well kinda, it still sounds as if it was a bit overboard] to finding 'strange objects'* on/near transist areas that they had not been informed about.

And if you think that deploying a bomb squad to deal with them in the first place is weird just cause they were in plain sight and didn't cause harm elsewhere..... well just pray I never go terriorist because that is the type of thing I would do. The best hiding place is the one right in sight(of course if I did this it would have to be without the cities knowledge or else they might which to examine my objects).

Examining the objects was a good thing. Arresting two people hired to put them up on hoax charges is ridiculous. Asking for some sort of compensation from the company is reasonable enough in my mind.

*As a note, while I can understand examining odd objects that have turned up; why you would default to thinking of it[in this case anyways] as a bomb is beyond me.

Check out this press conference with the two suspects: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zx2ytr2Oyv4

All I can say is that I respect them for sticking to their guns. This whole situation is ridiculous and it's funny seeing the media try to keep the press conference from being the same way. I don't think they could've handled that stand any better.

The fact that the ads are continuously referred to as hoax devices and at one point (and maybe still?), the two artists in custody were going to be prosecuted and possibly sentenced up to five years.

Ridiculous, but not funny.

Ridiculous, but not funny.

I would agree if I actually thought they would get stuck with something. As is I think that is unlikely and thus can laugh about it. If those two DO get hit, well talk about failure of the justice system.

They should have done stencils in various places instead. Sure, that's vandalism and even more illegal than what they actually did, but at least no one would have freaked out, and it's quite easy to get away with graffiti. Not that I would know from experience or anything like that...yeah. >_>
