Anybody know a good audio ripping program? I mean a program that rips the audio from a dvd to my computer in .mp3 or any other format good for my mp3 player. Thanks.

For Windows, you can't go wrong with CDex.

For Linux, abcde is the best. :p

Did you actually mean DVDs there? :p
Does CDex rip from DVDs? :p

CDex can rip from the audio input of your DVD player. It can probably rip from the stereo output from your PC, at least WavePad which is a similar program can.

To rip directly from DVD try WinAVI

Oh, did you mean extract a segment of audio from a DVD-video? Like I had to do with the theme song of Pirates of the Caribbean?

There are a few silly commercial products out there that all seem to use exactly the same code, and will only extract a 5 minute clip from the song, so here's what I did: tutorial
