LP Distribution? (possible spoilers)

Hey FFXII players. I got this game for Christmas and I've been playing it off and on for the past month or so without much problem. But I've come to an area where it seems I have the option to just level up and gain loads of LP, but I'm not sure how to spend it.

So far in the game I've just been spending LP the same for each character, but I've been reading that most players seemed to assign certain Liscenses for certain characters. I realize that could be advantageous, but what I really want to know is if I should continue with spending the LP to have every character the same, or if I should start spending it differently for each character? If it helps to know (which I'm sure it does), I've reached the Giza Plains (rainy) on my way to the tribe I'm supposed to ultimately get to (sorry, the name fails me at the moment).

If I should have started the game by distributing the LP differently to each character, I hope it's not too late for me to start doing that now if I need to.

Any help or advice is apprecaited.

It would be best to spend LP on augmentations first since you can use those upgrades right away. Don't waste your time on weapons, armor, etc unless you were already able to buy them.

And it's nice to diversify. Some characters are naturally suited for specific roles. For example: even at the same level, there's a huge difference between Basch's MP and Penelo's, so plan accordingly.

LP distribution is not much of a brain teaser, just buy the licenses for the equipment you need at that point in the game. And all the left overs go towards augments. Once your augments are all done. You just evenly distribute all your points to whatever you want/need.

Don't spend LP on gambit slots: Get 3 or 4 for each player than wait till you get to Archades or Balfonheim where you can buy all the gambit conditions.

Same for those "Maximize HP while barehanded" (or "max HP"). Are you kidding me ? When would I leave a character barehanded ? Weapons don't even get damaged on XII. Same for Max HP, after the first hit to your guy it is useless.

Augments, then magick, then techniques. Use LP for accessories, weapons and armor when you buy them

use lp for augments first, ALWAYS(unless you have a weapon and need a license for it

Yeah, definately go for the Augments first. After you have most of those, plan out routes to the Quickenings and which characters you want to license them to. Definately have each character license different things. The game would be boring if they were all the same. All of my characters use different types of weapons. They generally have the same Augments, though.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Seems like 100% of you recommend Augments as a first priority, so I guess I'll spend any LP I get from here on out on them.
