This is scanned from my Ultimania Omega X2. What is the little boy with the blue shirt (same from X beginning scene BTW) doing on X2 ?

Your thoughts ?

I'd call it a lazy character designer, but i'm sure someone else has a better explanation.

In my humble opinion...

The boy is one of the fayth from Zanarkand and is having fun walking around Spira like the Bahamut kid used to do.

This explanation is much more believable....Unfortunatly X-2 is full of lazy character and location designs. I say location designs because they never bothered to change any of the towns or locations (save Kilika). You'd think after two years things would be thriving.

I reckon he's a Fayth
Or when Tidus died they gave all his stuff away to random people.

Lazy character design.

Sorry.

If it was, why would Square Enix "advertise it" on their own Ultimania book ?

Nope, it has to be something else, it was on the chapter of "secrets".

If the whole game had a total different design from it's prequel, then i would have considered this theory.
But as it is,i have to agree that it's lazy character design.

The secret is their lazy character design.

Unless someone can translate the japanese if there are other references to it, I bet all we'll get is "Lazy character design" vs "must be something cos it's in their book".

That's what S-E gets for rushing X-2's release.

He probably bought it in the Zanarkand ruins. Remember how it became a tourist hotspot? I know I'd make knock-off Abes shirts if I was a vendor there. It probably has Jecht on it because Tidus mentioned his father playing for the Abes.

Maybe it's just an easter egg.

Or fan service. Or just an added feature to leave the players thinking.

Just as Tifa in FFVII said "That weapon man upstairs said he wanted to give you something." when theer actually was no weapon man.

Made me think some DZ people came to Spira and mingled with the locals. That would be fun!

Wrong, actually. Tifa mentioned that the owner of the weapon shop said he wanted to speak to you. That owner is the guy across from the weapon vendor in the Sector 7 slums. When you talk to him, you hear him talking to himself, hoping that you'll forget to come. He gets miffed when you show up, and sends you to the next higher floor to hear the stuff he was going to tell you.

Anyway, back on topic. I remember hearing that if you get the good ending, the Zanarkand Abes are actually a team in New Game +. Is this true? If their team is back, why not their fan shirts? I know that at the very least, Tidus can join (the "Star Player").

The upper floor of the Weapon shop has Beginner's Hall and a few items.

Well, one of the girls who asks for Tidus's autograph (the red head) at the beginning of FFX shows up again with Rin in FFX-2 during the Sphere Break tournament with her twin sister o.O

I think I've gotta agree with the 'lol someone didn't pay attention to which character models they kept using' camp. But psy's BS sounds the best!
