With all those threads that pop up about MySpace every so often, it's a wonder that no one's made a thread about Facebook.

Who's got a Facebook profile? You can check mine out here (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=501976307), maybe we can make each other feel important and add each other as friends. <3

Everyone has myspace... It's just easier, otherwise I'd have to convert like everyone I know on myspace. Same goes for livejournal, and msn.

I'll just speak to the people who matter on msn :D All these things are silly. :)

Edit: Main reason I even have a Myspace is to stalk people. Can't see their pics without an accont of my own.

I have a facebook, mostly only people who I know that go to University have one. Those who go to College and School rarely do. It might be that I live in England though. :jess:

I have Facebook, I prefer it to MySpace. It is a nice way to get a hold of people that go to your university and other friends.

I have facebook for the sole reason that I had to look someone up once my freshman year. I don't think I've touched it since. I don't even have a myspace account.

In short: they both suck.

Internet nonconformity demands that I hate social networks.

But since the majority of people on the internet hate social networks you are actually conforming, you conformist.

Yes, they do. Myspace is good for finding people you havent seen forever. and I can't be arsed to make a facebook.

I've had one for a few months...had to wait until I got a college email to make one, and now I see all these high schoolers with one. Grr . I like that with Facebook you can still stay in touch with friends but don't have to deal with all that phishing and junk like you do with myspace.

if you conform, you're not conforming to non-conformist ideals, so it's all good in the hood

that whole conformist/non-conformist BS claptrap raises my ire on occasion, but then i remember who the individuals involved are and how pretentious the prats seem to me...so do what you will.

that being said, i have a myspace...so far i'm underwhelmed but half of my friends are EOFFers! yay me!

Why did Facebook open itself up to the entire world? I thought that the very specific thing that made Facebook unique was the fact that it was a network for University students.

Now it's not.

Doesn't make sense to me. Do they think that by opening Facebook up to anyone and everyone, that they could compete with MySpace? They pretty much can't at this point. And I think it was silly of them to get rid of the one factor that made them unique.

I got both.

It's a good way to keep in touch with old friends, and people who don't live near me anymore.

Okay... You got me. I have no friends. I only use MySpace to spy on hot chicks I used to stalk in High School.

None of my friends use Facebook, and since the purpose of having a MySpace is to keep in touch with my friends, the purpose of me having a Facebook has been smoten.

heheheh smoten

yah the myspace thing isn't too prolific amongst my real life friends, they still resist computer technology for the most part.

They're both gay. Hell, I'm fruity enough posting a LJ entry twice a year.

If I recall correctly, Facebook recently opened it doors to everyone. So even if you don't live in the US, you can still join. They are very different, I prefer Myspace over the other.

I have both a Myspace and a Facebook *geek*
