View Full Version : Ragtimer's back in town!

Goldenboko
02-05-2007, 11:06 PM
This is based off my Ragtimer Came to Town Thread. The rules are mostly the same. The first person to answer the given question correctly is given the points.
The point system works like this
1 point for... Answering a question correctly, or Noticing an error in my question
2 points for... Noticing an error in my question, and answering the question correctly.
3 points for... Finding my answer to be incorrect and providing a correct answer and a source to back up your correction.
I will wait alittle while and declare all who answered it correctly with points... please though hide your answers in spoiler tags.

For old times sake the first question will be...

Where do you have to be in order to incounter the Ragtimer?

jammi567

In any forest in any part of the world?

Little Blue
02-05-2007, 11:48 PM
You spelt encounter wrong. Whether that's on purpose or not is a mystery, until you reveal the answer.
There is no such creature as the Ragtimer, however there is a card titled Ragtimer with an image of the Ragtime Mouse, indicating you need to be in a card battle (or just browsing through your cards) to enounter it.

Ragtimer and Ragtime Mouse are really the same thing. "Ragtimer" was what the game called him when one of his questions he said was: "True or False? You can defeat Ragtimer." He was talking about himself. Probably the reason people call him "Ragtime Mouse" was because FF9's strategy guide used that name. Heck, the strategy guide even said that the structure you examine to fight Ozma was an Eidolon grave.

Pupu is in fact, correct, the name's Ragtimer and Ragtime Mouse are interchangeable. But I'll give you 2 points for noticing the second way. Jammi next time mark your answer with a spoiler tag. PuPu gets three points for clearing that all up.

Question 2:
What is Princess Garnet's full name?

TheSpoonyBard
02-06-2007, 01:36 AM
Princess Garnet Til Alexandros XVII, or Sarah, depending on which you want to use.

Little Blue
02-06-2007, 11:11 AM
It really depends which Princess Garnet you mean. The true one that died as a child who was, to the best of my knowledge, called Princess Garnet til Alexandros 16th (I hope the format of the 16th doesn't count :(), or the Princess Garnet / Dagger character we see in the game who is not the original Princess, and whose original name I can't remember...

Goldenboko

I guess only two people are answering this one.
Endless gets two points for including Sarah, Duality you get one because you couldn't remember the name Sarah.

Chocobo air garden! and I think it's a statue you have to check out to fight ozma.

Hi now it's time for me to jump in... this was pretty easy so...

First of all it's Chocobo's AIR Garden, second; according to the guide it says that Ozma is in an eidolon grave, which is located in the back of the air garden...

Mog?

Krzych
02-10-2007, 02:07 PM
Was it Baku?

TheSpoonyBard
02-10-2007, 06:53 PM
No one. Baku bumped into her, causing her to drop the letter. Baku picked it up and said he'd pass it on to Zidane. However, he dropped it at the docks where it was discovered by Beatrix.

Dragoon Kain
02-10-2007, 08:16 PM
then was it quina?

Goldenboko
02-10-2007, 09:07 PM
Endless and Krzych got it...
If you think back you'll remember that Eiko had Docter Tot write it for Zidane, went to go deliver it, and got stuck. She then gave it to Baku to deliver it.

True or False?
Ozma has an attack that can damage himself. (Extra point for naming what it is if you think its true)

PuPu
02-10-2007, 09:47 PM
No, he doesn't originally have an attack that damages himself.

However...
If you have done the Friendly Monster side-quest, it will make Ozma weak against Shadow-Elemental attacks instead of absorbing it. So, if used Doomsday, he will damage himself.

Levian
02-10-2007, 10:15 PM
true

Krzych
02-10-2007, 10:16 PM
True
Ozma's biggest weakness is Doomsday (damaging itself) and Slow

Goldenboko
02-10-2007, 10:28 PM
You all got it correct, Levian only gets 1 point he didn't list an attack, Krzych gets 2 points for naming off the skill and answering, and PuPu gets three, because he remembered to put how it can be false if you don't complete the friendly spirits side quest, he answered the question, and he named the skill.

Actually no, since Ozma has an extremely cheap trick. When the ATB bar of one of your characters fills up, Ozma automatically gets a turn before that character, making Slow kind of useless.

Oh and Ultima Weapon teaches Flee by the way.

I don't know if this is a part of the contest but you forgot an s in question. and yes, it's possible.

KazexLisa
02-11-2007, 04:13 PM
No because you would have to fight bosses along the way... For Example.... the first fight agianst Baku... I believe gives enough gives enough EXP to raise you a level

Goldenboko
02-11-2007, 04:28 PM
No that was just a typo.

Yes it is possible bosses don't give EXP in FFIX and it is possible to cast stop, on almost all enemies you have to face, and you can get yourself infected with the virus status effect, it has been done.

What is the difference between cook and eat?

TheSpoonyBard
02-13-2007, 01:56 PM
Do Levian and I not get 2 points for highlighting an error in the question?

Eat requires the enemy to have lost 75% of its max HP. Cook is the Trance version and requires the enemy to have lost 50% of its max HP.

Levian
02-13-2007, 02:08 PM
There's a higher chance cook will work. doesn't require as much HP lost as Eat.

PuPu
02-13-2007, 08:09 PM
Eat only works when the enemy has 1/8 of it's HP left, while Cook can work if the enemy has 1/4 of it's HP left. Otherwise, if the conditions of Eat or Cook aren't satisfied, Quina says "I no can eat til dumber weaker!" and they don't have any effect at all. Oh, and Eat and Cook don't work on certain enemies such as bosses. Basically, Cook works on monsters that would normally need to have less HP for Eat.

1/8 and 1/4 are guesses and probably wrong, since I don't really remember much about Eat/Cook.

how do you see whats behind the spoiler tag?

You enter it through the purple thing above the Iifa tree

Good to see, you're still doing this game. Does the other guy that (besides Endless) still come here? Blitz Ace I think it was?

Looking at your leaderboard as well. Why are 3 people tied for 4th place when only 2 of them have 4 points and the other has 3?

Typo, it happens when the leaderboard gets too complex.
No, Blitz-Ace (now known as Cookie) doesn't come on the forum much.

True or False?
In order to save you must find a moogle, or use the moogle flute.

True and false. What you said is true, but they're not the only ways to save. You are prompted to save when you change to another disc, and Memoria uses save spheres instead of moogles.

False, you can save before you change discs and you use that thing in memoria thats not a moogle to save

Yeah, yeah, I've been gone for a while sorry guys.

2 Points to everyone except PuPu, because everyone else thought of the Disc Change time, which I forgot about.

Necron can be considered a past tribute to what Final Bosses? Extra points if you explain.

Woodinator

he is a tribute to Zeromus in FFIV and Neo-Exdeath in FFV..to explain ^^ he relates to Zeromus in that they have similar final lines...Zeromus states he will live as long as evil exists in the hearts of men and necron states he will exist as long as there is life or death...he relates to Neo-exdeath in that they both desire to eliminate everything..exdeath says he will eliminate all memories, existance, and dimensions...and necron states he will return everything to the zero world where their is no existance
