I just wanted to say hello and make myself known.
My name's Melissa, but feel free to call me Mel. I'm from Norfolk in the UK.
I hope to find other people in UK who use these forums, and maybe some people in Norfolk if there are any around.

Hello to you Mel! I am from N. Ireland but I now live in the Midlands, which is the most boring place I know of and quite likely the most boring place in the universe.

DM is short for Dragonmaster.....it's a long story (and it will be when my first book is finished, heh *cough*).

Hello to you Mel! I am from N. Ireland but I now live in the Midlands, which is the most boring place I know of and quite likely the most boring place in the universe.

Hello!

It can't be as boring as the Fens between Ely and Lincolnshire. When I go to visit my brother in Yorkshire, the train has to go through the Fens, and depending on your frame of mind at the time, it can be soul-destroying.

Norfolk, as most people know, is full of farms, but there's an awful lot of history here. Especially in Norwich just a few miles from where I live.

Nice cookie.

I've tried to reply to everyone who's posted since yesterday either on the thread or in PMs. If I haven't, PM me. Sorry, when I looked at the thread I thought "aaahh! so many people to reply to!"

So....sorry if I've not acknowledged you yet. >_<'

Yes, please don't post multiple times in a row, DM. Instead use the edit button in the lower right corner of the post you want to edit, if there's anything you have forgotten to add.

I merged your posts.:joker:

Sorry! I know this is a bad excuse but it's true....I've been on the phone most of the afternoon with different people ringing me and I just wasn't paying attention to what I was doing. :(

I'll be more careful next time.

It's usually the accent I find. Somehow, the accent of most sailors seems very similar to that of Norfolk.

We end up leaving the pronunciation of certain letters out of words, like:
* Hadn't/havent - hant (and not pronouncing the t properly if at all)
* Wouldn't - woont
* Isn't - int
* Didn't - dint

Extras:
* Home - hoom
* right- roit
* alright - a'rite
* What's that - whassat

It's a funny old world.
