The best summon, in my opinion, is Phoenix. It does fire damage, yes, but it also serves to, in most (if not all) Final Fantasy games, revives a character in full. This is extraordinarily helpful in most situations.

Bahamut is a good one for its ability to deal high damage for a decent cost. What makes it so good is that the damage is non-elemental.

My personal favorite is Final Fantasy VI-era Alexander.

I never really used summons in FFVI or previous. Summons became far more useful in FFVII and after, I think. That being said, I loved FFVIII Doomtrain, solely for the meltdown affect on basically every enemy.

I never really used summons in FFVI or previous. Summons became far more useful in FFVII and after, I think.
I found bahamut to be the most useful form of offensive magic in FFIII-V.

But Odin beats them all he is just incredible especialy in FF9 that video when he destroys that big tree(don't remember name) is really cool....:cool:

Im between Shiva from X and Carbunkle from various

Shiva for reasons said above as well as that all of her attacks are so gracefull.

Carbunkle because it comes out so innocent, and then all magc using enimies are obliterated by their own strength.
