"This is not a virus" makes me suspect it's a virus.

Yes, I read that. Alas, nothing of what it requires fits with my computer. Pity, it look like a nice game.

Just think of what developers could do if they dit the same thing on console games! the whole game is only 96killobites! Most shooters have a file sixe of 600MB or more.

I scanned it for viruses and it came up clean on my Symantec AntiVirus with a virus definition file of 2/14/2007.

Wow that looks pretty decent. I will try it out another day though.

It's very old, but still neat.

The only interest in this game is how they did it in 96k. After you play it for a while, the awe of how small the file is begins to ebb away as the game itself becomes dull.

I don't think this was their main concern with the game. Stuff like that can be easily fixed by designers. =P

It was mine

Perhaps I should have changed "you" into "I felt" or similar terms.

I don't think I'm gonna download this. Considering you didn't provide images, or any information and said it wasn't a virus.

It doesn't contain a virus. Rather, it contains a game that was made in only 96k, which, though amazing in many ways, is quite dull after a few minutes of play.

Isn't really worth it.

I've heard about this. And I've seen a screenshot of it in EGM or something. It looks alright but considering that I'm no shooter fan, I won't be bothering.

I don't have the time to download 96K.

Yeah, I could definately have spent those hours of downloading the game in a more productive manner.

Yeah, I've played it before if it's what I'm thinking about. It's a pretty amazing tech demo. Not worthwhile for much beyond that, though.

That is quite incredible that procedurally generated code can yield such a massive reduction in disk usage.

This (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.kkrieger) might convince the nonbelievers that it's not a virus.

If it's what I think it is, then it is a wonder of procedural synthesis.

Well, I beat it, and while impressive that it is so tiny, it's not that fun. However, this could really advance file compression.

Mabe 360 fans can play MGS4! (I still want it to stay on PS3 though.)

There's a slight difference between procedural generation and file compression.

Photo texturing just wouldn't work, the processing power needed would skyrocket and it would require many more man hours.

Considering the constantly growing data storage mediums and Bandwidths it doesn't really seem worth it.

Ah, I see. I didn't realize it used procedural generation. I apologize.

I apologize.

Damn straight!

I rememeber a big commotion around this around the time that Spore was announced, so this is pretty old.
