Remember how whenever an audience that you were in applauded there'd always be this last clap that someone tried to sneak in? Would you be one of those people that try to make the last clap?

I did that a lot when I was a kid.

I never realised anyone did that. The thing that was always popular at my school was that kind of akward really slow starting clap that you would see in the movies that builds up faster and faster until everyone is clapping loud.

I would often try to either be the loudest, or the first to clap, not the last though, I'd often stop first actually.

I don't understand your reason for doing this. I generally quit clapping as soon as I sense that the noise has begun to drop off from its peak.

No. I stop clapping well before everyone else has. I don't like clapping.

Unless we're talking clam claps.

I make sure I am not that person. :p I always thought they were either attention-whores or just didn't know when to stop clapping.

I never clapped at all. I would sit there with a dour look and grumble. Not kidding. I hate assemblies or ceremonies or anywhere where I am supposed to be part of a <del>herd of cattle</del> audience.

Clearly there was a clerical error in awarding me the Misanthrope of the Month Award this month.

I used to do that when I was little. I stopped trying before most others, though.

Someone should make a show out of that. The person who stopped last would win prizes.

The audience would win more often than the contestants. :p

It became very difficult, especially after the presentations began, since I would think I finished it, and then my friend would be eyeing my eagerly, lightly clapping his hands together.

We would silently clap for an entire hour or more, trying to be the final clapper.

Winning made it all worth it! And if I had to go back, I'd do it all over again. I regret nothing!

The people who try to do that are usually annoying in general. :O

I didn't care for such things much, usually.

I did that sometimes when I was little. But when I grew up it was just too uncomfortable to do it. xD After every time I did it, it felt awkward. But the "first clap" game is fun sometimes.

I only ever clap like 2 times and then it's not with both my hands it's one handed or I slap the side of my chair/leg twice. at work I tap my pool cue on the floor since I only ever clap someone when playing pool
