I think it would have gone better in General FF, but don't worry, it'll get moved there.

FF8 gets trite and boring on Disc 3. FF7's decent throughout the entirety.

Yup, General Final Fantasy. *moves*

I can't pick. They're different and great in their own way.

I have to say that personally I prefer FF8 but overall I would've though 7 had a larger fanbase.

I feel da same, cause i generally would of said FF8 was better, but the 3rd disc ruined it for me.
So FF7 is better, because it has a certain good consistency of fun throughout the whole of it, sorry FF8...!!!

personally i don't really like 8 all that much. there's no real point to it, and you hardly know who the main villain is until you fight them in the end. (as far as i remember anyhow) and the characters weren't really too great, nd i did like the squall rinoa relationship, but it moved too fast, seemed fake. and teh whole orphange thing, ugh! so phony >.<
7 on the other hand had a great story, a much loved villain, a great battle system, and wonderful characters. fantastic music also, but i'd have to say all the ff's have great music.

FFVII has an unnecessarily confused plot and a translation that makes you want to stab yourself in the eye but at least it's actually pretty fun to play. FFVIII is only enjoyable if you forget about the awful plot and broken battle system and focus entirely on the pretty graphics.

FF7. I don't think too highly of either games battle system, but FF7's is less expoitable for most of the game. I also liked the characters a lot more, and since I got used to crappy translations in the 16-bit and earlier days the story still manages to be more entertaining to me, even if some of it is absurd.

Though in the end neither of them are that great of a game. FF VII is decent.

FF VIII. FF VII was a big disappointment to me, in the end it was an okay game, certainly worth playing, but I enjoyed VIII a lot more. Maybe because VII didn't live up (for me) to the reputation so many people give it (best FF evah!).

VIII is 50 times better than VII. In fact, 50 times better than any game.

A'yo, FF8 No dobt. Even if it's not going to get the props it deserves, and FF7 is completely overestimated, I'll still vote for FF8.

I'd choose FF7 if its graphics were better but FF8 has better graphics and I like the junctioning =D But it is a bit easy... but none of the FF's are impossible and I hate getting stuck =(
FF7 had more challenging bosses

FF8 it is =)

VIII as the junctioning system is fun and more exploitable then different materna cominatioins when doing special challanges.

Although both are good, FFVII is better so long as you don't mind playing through it a few times in order to fully understand the plot, which is very enjoyable.

I don't like either of them, but christ I hated FFVIII. So VII wins.

I can relate more to FFVIII in terms of the real world, the concepts of SeeD and Garden are certainly to my taste, the battle system and card games are better than any of their counterparts in the rest of the FF's I've played and it has way more style. The works of the designers of FFVIII make those who designed the rest of the series look like amateurs. Face it, every monster in FFVIII looks cool
