Did you ever see a thread with a new post and click to read the last post in the thread and then after having read it you refresh a few seconds later and the last post suddenly changes because the person writing the post is editing it and you feel sneaky because you got to see the original unedited post and no one will ever know because EoFF doesn't add the "edited by" timestamp for a few minutes after the original post is made; or, conversely, do you ever post and then immediately spot a typo and start editing your post to fix it and wonder in a paranoid fashion whether other people may be watching you as you do so?

I do that sometimes.

Yes to the later. I edit my posts all the time for various reasons.

I subscribe to all threads that I have posted in and sometimes when I read an email-post in my Inbox it is totally different from what it is when I get to the actual post. And it's better than just catching someone in the act of editting because I have proof. :)

I find some people sometimes say a lot of nasty things originally and I get all set up to ream them out for it, but when I get to the actual post I find that they have totally rewritten it...which is a good thing for them. :)

I find many typos in my own posts. If I'm lucky I catch them right away and hope no one has noticed, but sometimes I don't catch them till days later.

What I hate is when I type a post, start off for work, and 5 minutes into an hour and a half walk, I think of something to add and have to wait until I get to work (or, if it's busy, 11 hours until I get home) to add it ><

This happened today with my spam thread. I had to wait until I got to work to add in a snarky little snipe about s'mores.

I'm down with this business.

Yes. And yes, I constantly edit my posts shortly after submitting them. Previewing threads is a 2005 ordeal.

I don't know about feeling sneaky, but I think I edit a good 30% of my posts immediately after posting them.

So I've definitely been snuck on.

yes. i edit my posts about 99% of the time. the best way to find out that my post has changed is when i am quoted by another member, but it's not quite word for word. i love sneakiness...

I left some typos behind so that some smartass can point it out and spam the hell out of the thread about his principles on perfect grammar and whatsoever.

Yes to both.
And sometimes I'm quick enough to quote it before it changes

Unne and his threads suck.

Yes to both, but particularly the second one. I must edit half of my posts for all sorts of errors. It wouldn't surprise me if this was another one of the.

EDIT: Yep.

I always edit my posts, but I hate it, because I can't STAND that little edited bar on the bottom. So if I edit it, I have to edit it right away.

I do my best to edit out my typos before the "last edited on" tag appears.

To not do this is not mortal. Having said that I do it and take screen shots all the time. I got the dirt on all of you freaks!

All the time

And I'm usually the one who types something that could come back on me and scramble to fix it before anyone can say something smarmy.

Yep, I do this sometimes. For example, with this post. :p

Yes

I'm obsessed about typos in my posts in this forum. If you catch them fast enough there's no 'edited by pg the typo noob' tag at the bottom :)

I edited the smile!!!:D

All the time. Half the time I'll post something, don't like it and immediately think of something better then re-edit it so fast no one will ever know I ever posted the original to begin with. :shifty:

yeah I edit my posts and on the occasional rare instance I see changes most often are in the "I wish/ corrupt this persons wish" type threads they get confusing fast. Sometimes I have to edit because in one of those type threads someone beats my post to the final position and I have to change it to affect them. I'm also a fond one for editing if I make mistakes. Earlier today I was typing and was after doing a new paragraph so absent mindedly hit tab and return thus submitting the post I simply clicked edit and carried on the post as intended.

I edit my posts sometimes. I never try to be sneaky. It took me three times to understand this thread.

I've never had the former happen, but I'm always doing the latter. I'm afraid of my imperfection being seen.
