This applies to both the GBA or SNES versions.
So, what do you think is the best thing about FF5? I think it's the way that all the jobs look unique on each person, and Galuf was just awesome.:D

The Job/Ability battle system is the best part about the game, IMHO. The storyline and characters are pretty well done, although they aren't as deep as in many other FFs. Gilgamesh is a great side character, though, and his theme song is excellent. I think FFV also has the best "Light Warriors who are chosen to save the Crystals" setting out of the FFs that have a setting like that (i.e. FFI, FFIII and FFV).

The Music, Job System and Omega and Shinryuu are the main reasons why I enjoyed playing it so much.

The boss battles too were much more challenging than any FF I'd played prior to V, and actually made me think about the fight and sometimes use a tactical approach to it instead of just bashing away at them until they died.

X-Death and the fact that Galuf dies are the only things that disapointed me about it.

Dude, Galuf's death was f-in epic.

Gilgamesh, but mostly when he helped you out in the Cleft of Dimensions dying. And the ending. I like funny, but dramatic is better.

As others have said, the job system, gilgamesh and the whole humorous script.. its probably the funniest FF overall (FF IX coming as a close second)

The superbosses of course also added that something more

Yeah, Ex-Death was estupido.

Yeah Gilgamesh was a great character who I enjoyed owning in both FF5 and FF12. X-Death was a cool character too. I really liked Galuf, he's funny. But the whole job system of this game is absolutely amazing.

Job System was awesome, the dialogue and banter between characters was the best and funniest in the series for me, classy music, the piano lessons being awesome, just general overall great little scenes in the game.

FF3 being a NDS title is released worldwide at the same time, is it not? And yeah my favourite thing with FF5 would be the jobs.

Nobody seems to have mentioned Gilgamesh yet.

Expect for the posts before you that you didn't read.

Anyway, I like getting to keep an ability from a job that you've earned, and getting an option to use it when you switch jobs.

Gilgamesh, Job System, uhm... that's about it. I kinda like the map layouts, and some music tracks were good (like Gilgamesh... sorry I'm obsessive)

I can't wait for it to come out here either (I'm from NZ as well) but even when it does my parents won't buy me a DS. I could ask for one as a birthday present... but I recently got FF12, so they'll probably reject the idea.

Some cool characters die. But I guess it adds to the story. I liked Galuf way more than Krile.

i think the game as a whole was really ahead of it's time. so in general i like alot about it. i liked X-Death, too. not sure why alot of people don't, i thought he had an original backstory and was also funny at times.

I LOVED FFV for a number of reasons really. It is the best FF in my opinion. I love the way the maps merged in World 3, I loved the moogles of course! I loved all the witty banter, and I loved the challenges that the game brought as someone said before - the bosses were harder on this game than any other FF I can remember.

But my top reason has to be the music. I love the music on nearly all FF games, it's been my inspiration for a lot of my music writing, and V is one of the top of that list of inspirations.

Also the fact that I've completed the game 3 times and STILL never had the patiece to beat Shinryu. I beat Omega and X-Death on level 55 or so, but fighting Shinryu I just couldn't do! :D

The job system, colourfulness of the game and the witty, comedic demeanour of it. It was not meant to be a dark serious game like IV and VI. That's why it was so refreshing...
I also loved Faris - probably cos she's a lot like me :)
Wait, I don't dress up like a guy. Really. But anyway.

I love flexible job systems, and FFV has a great one. Its part of the reason I love FFT and I can even forgive FFX-2 for many of its other faults.

Also it has a transforming boat/airship/submarine. A lot of other FFs separate those into different craft.

I love the guy who stands outside Bartz' hometown and says "This is your hometown." Does he get paid to do that?

And wasn't there a dragon that sounded like an elephant?

Good times. :D

Boss battle music. Oh yes. The Decisive Battle, The Battle on the Big Bridge, Neo-Exdeath. All excellent tracks. Aside from the music, I've always quite liked the plot. It's not brilliant, but it's certainly one that has a lot of progression and a lot of twists and turns. I certainly never expected most of the plot twists, such as the merging of two worlds or that Galuf would die. I think I'd be repeating too many people if I expressed my love for the job class system but that is, naturally, fantastic.

Fixed. :p

The story wasn't as good as its SNES siblings', but was still a good story. But the job customization HAS to be #1.

Job system was a lot of fun and variety
The characters were also good in hwo they were done, the game had a lighter feeling, and was funny

There was just something about this game that made me want to play it, even start from the start more than once, when I lost saves or changed console.
