The title really explains it all. What games didn't you expect to like and then ended up enjoying them?

For me, it's Mortal Kombat 3. I'm not sure what made me go from hating this game to liking it at all. >_< It suddenly just became so awesome.

What about you, EoFF?

Katamari Damacy. The concept of rolling up paperclips to roll up the world is quite frankly retarded. Yet somehow so addicting.

Shadow Hearts: From the New World. That's only a half-truth, because I expected to like it, but not really all that much. By the time I got around to buying it, I had heard a lot of bad things and expected a totally average game with a horrible plot. I was surprised to find that I adore it completely and think it's wonderful.

FFX-2.

Final Fantasy X-2

That's because people act like it doesn't have any redeeming features. :P Job system for the win.

Fallout 2
I was watching my cousin play it one day and it didn't seem that interesting. But then I started playing it and it's one of my favorite games now.

It being one of the best games ever made could have something to do with that :p

I actually didn't like Half-Life 1 when a friend gave it to me. Now it's one of the best games for me (not counting FF's), along with hl2!!!:D

Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3. I never liked the other two games much but this is one of the best fighting games on the PS2. It's awoken my love for Dragon Ball I kept buried for years.

Alright, this is going back some ways, but ESPN Extreme Games. It didn't look anything terribly special next to the stuff coming along like Wipeout and Destruction Derby, but it was actually a pretty good fun game.

Halo and Oblivion are games that come to mind.

I remember way back when that I didn't think Alundra looked very exciting, but it turned out it's actually a really great game. I'd love to own it.

Such a shame that they had to go and make a really bad sequel, but I guess that's just how it goes.

Heh, now that you mention it, that's another one for me too. I thought it was a cheap knock-off of a game I don't like much anyway, but it turns out I love Alundra way, way more than I've ever liked a Zelda game.
