Can you still do this trick on the GBA? If so, can someone refresh me on how? I've played the SNES and PS versions many many times, and I wanna speed through the battles so I can see all the changes for myself....

Yeah, but it's not recommended as you're wasting levels that could be boosted with Espers.

Yeah I know, but at LV 99 I don't think I'll have problems with not having my stats maxed via espers....even Kefka's a piece of cake when you're in the 70's....

What's the Lete River level up trick?

You can make the raft go in circles, and Banon's Health/Pray ability makes sure you never die. That way, you can just put the cursor on memory, make the confirm button constantly depressed, and just leave the console.

yeah but it doesn't seem to work for GBA since there's no turbo control....

You don't need a turbo control for this, I think.

Kefka's a piece of cake long before you get into the 70's so yeah, I agree with you. All this stat boosting is pretty pointless in this game.

And you shouldn't need a turbo controller. Unless the GBA version has changed you should be able to just tape the button down and leave it. Give it a try if you haven't already.

If you need a turbo controller for the trick, you could Gameboy Player and a Turbo GameCube controller.

That should be your weapon of choice for button pressing on a GBA/DS. =P

Yes, you should be able to just tape the button down. As long as A is held, the commands are selected. As for stat boosting, I see it more as making yourself more powerful, earlier. I mean doing 1000 damage with a blitz before reaching level 20 is quite nice. I remember first time playing the game seeing shock and thinking how powerful it was... now, Sabin is doing more damage than that with proper stat boosts and it almost looked.... weak.

I've tried, whenever it gets back to the point where I need to choose to go up, I have to press A manually....

sux, but it's all the better. you'll do as good on level 40 with good bonuses as you would at 60 without good bonuses :p. And seeing as you get to 40ish easily through normal gameplay, you save a lot of time by managing your espers in a smart way.
