Name yours.

I got two for this one. The longest one I played in one sitting was Dragon Quest VII, I'm at least 80 hours in and I'm not eve half way done yet. My other one was Phantasy Star II, a game so hard it took me ten years to beat.

I have over 120 hours accumulated on my FFT file, but that's about it. I have my timer on FFVI SNES maxed out at 99:99 as well.

140 or so hours in FFVII. I could have gone for awhile in VIII with all the side quests.

It took me a hell of a long time to get all of the Pokemon in Pokemon Red when I was 13. I did it the old fasioned way, too. None of this unlimited rare candy and master ball crap. Then I realized I could never finish the game. I even had Mew, which I will admit, I had to use a Game Shark to get, but that's because there's no legitimate way to get it.

I think the longest i've spent on a game is about 70 hours on FFVII. My FFX file is 120+ hours but that doesn't count 'cause about 70 of that is Blitzball. :D

Probably Morrowind. I have no idea how much I've spent on that game, but it's definitely in the hundreds.

Besides that, I played FFVIII for 75 hours or something. I like to take my sweet time.

Final Fantasy VII - 100 hours plus. Ridiculous, eh?

Closely followed by the amazing Oblivion, at 80 hours.

>>> 200+ hours in FF9..
That was many years ago, I have not played a rpg for so long since that time..

Tales of Symphonia, I've clocked over 150 hours over five play throughs.
Dark Cloud 2 or Pokemon Leafgreen, for longest one play clock. I lost my Dark Cloud 2 data, but I'd probably be in the 200 hours if I still had it. I have 115 hours on Leafgreen and I'm still going.

300+ Hours in FFX, but overall, I'd say that I invested 6 hours in Diablo 2 for 6 days a week, for the last few weeks. Not to mention before that, the amount of time I played it before the EoFF community.

However, as far as time it took to actually complete the game, SO3. That game is long.

Around 120 hours on Dark Chronicle, and about the same with FFX. I can see Rogue Galaxy holding me back for some time, Im already at 70 hours.

I dont see how you lot are getting 200+ hours on FFIX and 300+ hours on FFX. FFIX, you only need 100 hours max to get anything, and FFX about 150+ max. You lot must really suck or something.

Idling around, doing nothing is a big reason for unnecessary hours. It took me only about 100 hours for everything.

>>> In ff9 try to get every item (except Excalibur 2), all the Tetra Master cards, make every character reach level 99 and also get 99 Amethyst, Aquamarine, Garnet, Opal, Peridot, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz.. man that sure took time..

Morrowind. I don't know how many hours but I know for sure it was well over a hundred, possibly close to 200. With both characters combined in Oblivion its about 190 hours total.
And Ultima 6 I played and beat that 3 times.

Final Fantasy XII.

around 70 hours in DQVII and about 100 in FFX most RPGs I like have over 50 hours into them, the one's I've had for longer at least, I haven't been able to really get into any lately.

Morrowind. I've... I don't even know. It's a lot. A whole Hux of a lot of time. More than I care to even think about.

FFVII must rank pretty highly, seeing as I'm on something like my 19th play through it.

FFX as well, not as long, but still high up there. Three or four plays through, two of which were serious collection/completion business.

Standard story? Legend of Legaia (Still not finished it) or Star Ocean 3.

I've had plenty that I've run up about 50-60 hours on in the past, but to beat just the story, I'll go with FFXII. I still haven't had the time to beat it, but I'd estimate I'm a good 10-20 hours from beating it and I've already run the clock up over 45 hours I think at last play session. This is the only RPG except for FFT that I haven't beaten in 35 hours or less on the first playthrough.

It is probably Final Fantasy VI, I had the timer at 99:99 which I think was the max. But my characters were all level 99 and had all of the spells and espers and every sidequest done. That should beat out Final Fantasy XII, in which I am currently 105 hours into it. :)

Laddy
02-26-2007, 12:48 AM
Morrowind, at 134 hours. Also, Dragon Quest VII at 214 hours, but 1/2 of that was sidequests.

FF XII. It's the first RPG where I spend more than 80 hours. And I still haven't beaten it :p

I wouldn't be able to stand spending that much time in a console RPG. I have about 30 hours in an FFIX game I started a few weeks ago and I killed three of the Memoria bosses before I got bored and stopped playing.

I'd imagine the most amount of time I've spent was probably in Fallout 2. I had some beasty equipment in that game. I never actually finished it, though. I got close, but never actually went to the end.

I have around 75 hours on Suikoden V, if I remember correctly.

Although, I've played Suikoden III dozens of times. Overall, that's the game I have the most hours on.

DK
02-26-2007, 01:49 AM
If it's overall hours, definitely FFVII. Like hux, I'm on like my 19th playthrough, and average about 60 hours to get everything done, so...just a bit. xD

Venom
02-26-2007, 02:02 AM
The first would be Final Fantasy X cause I have 87 hours total and the second one would be Tales of Symphonia where I have 47 hours.:)

I've invested countless hours into nearly all of my Pokémon and (if they count as RPGs) Fire Emblem games.

ljkkjlcm9
02-26-2007, 02:24 AM
oh Fire emblem by far if they count. Not by what the timer actually says, but when you play a whole mission on the hardest difficulty, then make a stupid mistake or get really unlucky right at the end, you just blew an hour+ on this mission to have someone die! I don't like them dieing, so restart!

Otherwise, idk. MMORPG can't count, otherwise it'd probably be one of those. I'm gonna have to say, FFVI or Tales of Symphonia. Both amazing games in their own way, and two of my favorite RPGs ever.

How the hell do you spend more than eighty hours (if even that) on a FF game? I'm pretty sure it's possible to complete most of them 100% in less than eighty hours.

Morrowind for me too, but definitely not over 100 hours. Besides that, Ultima VII took around 50-60 hours to complete.

Overall? FF7. Multiple playthroughs. Followed by FFT.

In one playthrough? FFXII (100+ hours). Followed by Suikoden V (80+ hours).

uh tales of phantasia was long
multiplayer secret of mana has taken 20 hours of my time i think

also ff8 cause my sister wrote over my saves after 50 h of gameplay. i wasn't as angry as i thought i would be.

You played Suikoden II for 50 hours? O_o I spend 30 hours per playthrough, sometimes less. Which includes getting all 108 characters and the best ending, along with doing all the cooking sidequests (though not bothering to get all the recipes).

IF I had a ps2 to play it on, I'd probably have a few bajillion hours on a game know as diesgia. In that game you can go inside your items and level them up to no avail. This includes healing items and such. So yah.

I think Disgaea was the longest RPG I ever played. I mean even after 1000 hours I still hadn't seen everything in the game, seen all the endings, or gotten the best weapons.

Wolf Kanno

Xenogears 85 hours invested.

FFXII 125 hours, but I still have a two mark hunts (Yiazimet being one of them) and the Hell Wyrm and Omega Mark XII battles, as well as ultimate weapon collecting so it will probably be longer...

Disgaea about 125 hours as well. I want to fight Prinny Baal:cool:

Dragon Quest VII being clocked in at 144 hours when I finally finished it. I still have the two optional dungeons to go through though...

Disgaea 2 9999 hours ;D

I've played through FFX 13 times, with several files completely maxed out in terms of items, "levels" and stats, etc...
Morrowind has been played through at least five times
I have logged around 220 hours on my FFTA file
SO3 took an ungodly amount of time due to its size
SMAC was played by me for three years straight, an hour at least every fucking day
And finally, Diablo II. Not as much as Tav, thank god, but a fair amount all the same.

Hmm..would have to be Alundra on the PSX, clocked over 200 hours on it. And the timer only goes to 99.99 hours. And I have my original file still lol.

little disclaimer first 'i really only like to play the storyline in RPGs'
that being said:

FFVIII (my fav tied with IX) - 48 hours.
Pokemon: Leaf Green (believe it) - 44 hours.

oh and i suppose FFXII with 60, just cause that game is horrendously long, but i'd say i only enjoyed max 30 hours of it.

p.s.
Super Smash Brothers Melee - 897 kerthousand hours.

As far as most time put into an RPG, I would definitely say FFVII. I have some crazy materia built up. :)

No way, I beat that game in less than a week. Magic Barrier like whoa.

Diablo II and Final Fantasy X are at odds. For just one single playthrough, Xenogears probably took me the longest. That sucker is 800 hours even when you rush.

About 210 hours in total on multiple FFX playthroughs, definately my longest.
