I haven't used a game guide or anything like that for FFVIII because i prefer to beat the game the first time on my own then use one to get all the sweet things iv missed first time around. I think i am in HUGE trouble and wont be able to finish off the last boss. I had beaten all of Ultimicia's gaurdians but one (didn't unlock the save ability). I decided to go on and try to kill her. I do good on her first form manly using demi till shes low then bio to finish her off. Once the GF comes out i hurt him until he cast his special move. Two of my people are at 10k-1 HP and the other at like 5k. I do alright but eventually he overwelms me and im done for. I use holy tripple casted for like 3.5k a shot. I dont have any final weapons and i only have like 30 ultimas total because i never found anyplace to draw them. I dont think i can do anything to beat the game, does anyone have any solutions or advice i can do? Thanks in advance a whole lot.

Yeah I made it to the end and could of used a bit more powering up. But I found Water to be a strong spell for damage as an alternative for Ultima (which I did since my Ultima's were junctioned to Squalls HP so yeah I couldn't really use that too effectively.) If you have Eden you could use it to help take you through the first 2 forms or so really fast, just remember to boost up a lot. Also if I'm not mistaken every form final boss in VIII absorbs Holy. If you have Aura you could use it to get out some nice Limits for damage for a bit.

Really though in the end for me I just Edened my way through the GF portion and then hack and slashed, casted a few spells, and just slowly ate away her HP for well over an hour before I managed to win eventually.

Eden would be nearly instakilled if you summoned it in the final battle...

I suggest you upgrade Squall's gunblade to Lionheart. That limit comes to be very useful. If you can get Tornado's junction them to strength.

Oh yeah, go to the island closest to hell/heaven, and put on no encounters. You'll find lots of draw points for high level magic there. They're completely invisible though, so just walk over the islands systematically and get them all. You'll find full-life, flare, tornado, triple, meteor, and ultima, among others. The draw points will eventually refill if you wait long enough.

I am right before i fight the sorc right outside her castle is where i saved so isnt it to late to do anything else other then fight her? And the weapon that squall has is the i forget what it is called but it is the 2nd red sword with teh upgraded handle. Ill try using water on her. Oh and i dont have the two gfs that immediatly follow Cactuar and the two gf that immediatly are before Cactuar, no eden:mad2: . So should i just try using water?

It's never too late. You can exist the castle and use one of the dimensional portals to get to a chocobo forest. From here, you can ride the chocobo to the Ragnarok, but you can't enter any towns. You can however still get GF Tonberry, and therefore be able to buy stuff from any shop using his call shop ability. I'm pretty sure you can still enter the deep sea research center too, and therefore get Eden.

Using water sounds like a weak tactic to me, to be honest.

Refine all your cards into magic, you don't need them anymore. I mainly used Lionheart, so Revive is nice to have.

Wow son, you a bigtime beginner. Look I think some else mention this, but go to the island closest to hell and trained there. You can get your characters to a reasonable level quickly. And from the looks of it your going to need it to. You died have way through the final battle. And don't even think about fighting Omega Weapon!

Lol, wow. You are in BAD shape. Your best option right now is to bring Selphie and have her cast The End. Open the PS1 lid while you are doing her Slots. Right now it would take forever to get to a point where you could just beat her with pure power.

Well, good luck with Ultima Weapon. He's not exactly a pushover. Before you can fight him you'll have to face a bunch of Ruby Dragons and also Bahamut. I suggest not trying to get Eden, since it will probably be incredibly difficult for you to even reach Ultima Weapon, much less fight him. Eden will probably end up being killed by Ultimecia anyway.

The quickest way to get what you will want will take awhile. You'll need at least Doomtrain, Aura magic, Tonberry, and Squall's Lionheart. Have Tonberry learn Call Shop and buy as many Aura Stones as you can from one of the Esthar stores. You might need his Familiar ability too, I'm not sure. Refine those Aura stones into Aura magic with Leviathan's Supt Mag-RF ability. Then, fight Ultimecia and summon Doomtrain each stage of the battle to inflict Meltdown. Summon Cerberus and triple cast Aura and have everyone use their Limit Breaks. If Squall has his Lionheart, then he has a chance of using the Lionheart finishing move which deals A LOT of damage.

Of course, to get Tonberry you have to kill around 20 Tonberries at the Centra Ruins. They are the most easily dealt with with a Mirco Missile from Quistis and some Renzokukens from Squall.

That's all EXCLUDING all of the high level magic you should have junctioned.

There is another method I thought of that will make Ultimecia easier. If you completed the Card Club Quest in Balamb Garden, then modify a bunch of Gilgamesh cards into Holy Wars and spam those in the final battle. If you haven't completed the quest, then nevermind. It can't be done in Disk 4, sorry.

Like I said, your best bet is to have Selphie use The End. Boost her Magic stat as high as you possibly can, get her within 1-300 or so HP and hope it appears. Unfortunately, if you cannot do the above strategies, then you will have to take some time to become stronger.

I beat the Ruby Dragons will no problem and i was doing like 3.5k to Bahamut. I wasnt in any trouble till he cast MegaFlare twice in a row before i had a chance to heal. I think i can take him but am expecting ill have trouble with Ultima Weapon. Can i still get the Leonheart sword at the point where i am? Does the TB King have a weaponshop hidden away with him too??

You can still get the Lionheart. You will need Tonberry to upgrade to it, though, since you can't enter any towns. Use his Call Shop ability to call a weapons shop.

If you just want to get the game over with now and have been playing the card game, there's a card you can refine to get 100 Heroes. Forgot which one it is though.

Also, if you don't mind starting from an older save file again, you can draw Eden from Tiamat.

There is a shop on board the Ragnarok. Plus I think Doom Train is the one that allows you to call a weapon shop; Tonberry just lets you buy items.

Also, I don’t really think you’ll need the best weapons or Eden to take on Ultimecia. Just run around the island closest to Hell/Heaven drawing Aura, boost your strength to max for a few characters (Flare with the Strength +60% ability should do it) and limit break the final bosses to death. Worked for me, at least.

err, actually, only Tonberry is needed for all your shopping needs.

Doomtrain has the "Junk Shop" ability that lets you customize weapons, Tonberry has the "Call Shop" ability that lets you shop from any store in the game (link (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/game/197343.html). Check the Guardian Force FAQ (US) by Ranma or KasketDarkfyre)

Unless of course Call Shop brings up both (I think I would remember that, but it has been a few years since I played the game) although that would kind of make Junk Shop redundant.

I just wanna say thanks for the help, i was able to beat the final boss without Eden or leveling anymore or lionheart. My strength was around 165 for Squall and like 150 for Zell. I just kept doing limits and i had 2 hero drinks so i used them wisely. I had Rinoa bring back people/heal when needed. I didn't use Aura on account of not having any so Squall and Zell were always at 1 hp. I beat her with relative ease but thanks again for all the suggestions.

You don't have Edea in your party for the last boss
