Does anyone else totally love Fran's voice?
Her accent is so cool! :D
She should have had a lot more dialogue in the game.
Speaking of which, there should have been in-battle comments by the characters, like in FFX-2.

I do quite like it, it's weird sounding. Ashe's voice annoys me because half the time it sounds English and half the time American. (so far.) :monster:

I think its great that they actually casted some English voice-overs for the chars. Since it is set in that sort of region, and NOT amearica.

"what" sort of region?

"what" sort of region?
European sort of area, it seems like a time where Vikings stood.
Vikings came from Norway if I'm not wrong.

If anything, I think the game had a south European or middle eastern feel to it. When do we get to see vikings in FFXII?
Fran's voice actor is Japanese right?
Take a look at the link that I posted just a few posts ago (http://imdb.com/title/tt0388944/), and judge for yourself...

Ahahahahaha Phil LaMarr? Wow.
That was about my response too when I learned it was Phil LaMarr, I never expected he could get such a deep voice after hearing Hermes and Static Shock so much. XD
As for the accents I personally enjoyed them as they employed them better then some other games *cough*Dragon Quest VIII *cough* and had diversity with the voice actors based on where the characters were from. And I liked Fran's accent, though it bugs me that I can't quite place it, but I thought it sounded pretty nifty.

I never meant to say that vikings were in the game, but it was around that sort of time period. With empires, and vikings and stuff. That usually originated around parts of europe.
That is what i meant!

Errr.... kay. >_>;;
Bahamut, the only reason I laughed as I did is because I had absolutely no idea that Reddas' voice was done by Phil LaMarr. Surprised me.

Oh I know, I was just pointing it out cause it doesn't even SEEM like Phil LaMarr till you see that. I was freaking out too when I saw his name when I was trying to find out Cid's voice actor.
Actually after re-reading what I typed I didn't really make it out to sound very good did I? >.> *goes to change*

Fran's voice drives me nuts only because I can't identify the accent, or possibly what accent it's supposed to to sound like. Fantl's a good actress. I felt bad every time Fran felt bad because of her.
I could listen to Balthier all day.

Hey I miss that too! :rolleyes2
But I guess it is a good thing since the music is so bland. I just put the volume to zero when playing and I know I'm not missing anything because there is nothing to miss.
Then I put me some Nobuo Uematsu CD and it's perfect

It seems to be a bit of a mix between swedish/dutch/netherlands, english, with a slight america tone to it on occasions (which to me seems to become more prominent as the game goes on). It is definately very odd, especially since none of the other Viera seem to talk like this. Given Fran is pretty darn old, it's fair to say that the accent has probably been picked up elsewhere, perhaps some far-away land away from the main area where the game takes place.

English isnīt my native language, and Franīs voice makes it really hard for me to understand what she is saying. I can bearly understand her.
i liked everyones voice throughout the game but i did think frans was the best.

Not true. Jote and Myrn clearly talk with accents when you watch the cutscenes with them present. Though I find them slightly different from Fran's.

Mjrn and Jote also talk with accents, but nowhere as extreme or distinct as Fran's accent.
Mjrn has a sort of Arab/Persian accent.
Jote has a sort of Scottish/Irish accent.
And Fran has a sort of Icelandic accent.

Huh? lol...I think she would, I wish girls dressed like Viera do in real life hah :D
Also, I dont love or hate it, I must be one of the small minority which just dont have feelings about her voice either way, its just a voice, moderately pleasent, moderately annoying :P

I think Fran's voice is ok, But I despise Vaan's voice. It is too IDK perky. Ashe can sound concieted at times, But come on you gotta think who she is. Penelo is ok too, I just don't like her quickenings, they weren't as "cool" as the others, Basch is cool to, I actually like his voice, But I can listen To Balthier ALL day, If need be.

Basch's voice is great, IMO (Keith Ferguson). I can't believe he voices Bloo from Foster's! Balthier's is the best in my opinion.
On subject: Fran's voice is original and intersting to say the least. It's cool.

Fran's accent is Icelandic. I've a few Icelandic friends and they are almost identical to Fran while speaking in English.

I wonder if the variation in the accents of the 3 sisters was on purpose or if voice director just assumed no one would spot the difference.
Basch's voice actor caught me by surprise too. Man's got a lot of range.
I love Ashe's voice. The right balance of "royal" (concieted) and sadness.

I wish *I* had an Icelandic accent.
Fran needs more dialogue, Balthier's voice is smooth and sexy, but I'd rather listen to Fran do all the game mechanics explaination about Gambits & Party Guests and such...

Well I just discovered an interesting tidbit concerning Nicole Fantl(Fran). I saw a debate on the FFXII.net forums concerning her nationality. Like here, most were sure she was Icelandic, but couldn't find any solid evidence that stated it. It seems I got really lucky, because I stumbled upon a link to a website for a play in Los Angeles that the actress is currently in and it had cast info. Her accent is hard to figure out because it's a mix of many. She's listed all the way at the bottom of that page:
http://www.davidrouda.com/war_company.html
No wonder we all thought she sounded different from her sisters! XD
