On the site's ff3 section, I had heard that ninjas would equip any weapon. On FF3 DS, they can no longer equip masamune and excalibur at the same time. The best second weapon I can get for my ninja is a kikuichimonji, and that is much less effective. Frankly, I'm pretty miffed that squeenix nerfed the sage and the ninja.

Yeah, re-balancing the system so people can use any class they want and not be severely handicapped for going without the two uber classes is terrible.

I like the job system, because choosing a crappy job for your party, will result in making the game harder for you. So you can beat the game several times, on different difficulty levels.

I guess it is kinda fair that they balance the jobs...

Yeah I kind of disliked how the only real useful jobs in the original were Ninja, Sage, and Onion Knight if you collected all their gear.
Though Ninja dual throwing shurikens was a pretty cheap strategy, but then again so was an enemy who's AI was nothing more then a single attack over and over.

They still have Shurikens, its the strongest attacking weapon/item in the game. Aren't ninjas the only one that have the throwing ability?

Ninja's are still the only ones who can use shurikens which are the best damage dealing item to use. Plus every job can get a weapon from the traveling smith as long as someone is level 99 in that job. That is new to the game and if you get your Ninja job to 99, there is your other strong weapon to use for him!

The Final Boss just kept using Flare Wave in the original.

Well the shuriken, is still the strongest damage dealing item in the game, even with the level nintey-nine job level items.

Yeah original FFIII final battle was just a spam of Flare Wave over and over. It was the most straightforward and uninteresting battle of my life. T_T
I was so hoping for something more of a challenge like Hyne by that point. Even Zande required a little more thought in fighting.

I just beat the game :D. The final boss was kinda predictable.

Believe it or not, but in the original NES game, the Final Boss DOES have more than 1 attack. I once had that the Final Boss DIDN'T use Flarewave, but just a normal psychical attack! (And it missed, saved me a turn of sweating for healing in time) But this only appeared once. I found it weird, but there, it happened.

Ninjas are hardly nerfed. Even with Masamune and Kikuichimoni they still kick plenty of butt, and just put Excalibur on a Knight along with Ragnarok to make him kick equal butt.

I don't mind the Ninja not having the abitity to carry the two best wepons in the game, as somone said, it balances the game. Notice how some other classes were made stronger, well, they had to balance it out somwhere, didn't they.
And how were the Sages changed?
