I was just wondering does the outcome of good equipment on characters effort the way their hp increases per level, cause i have notchied vann had a few more hp than he did the one time he leveled up i am just confused :S..... if so what is the best thing to have to have good hp increase per level?

If you'll notice while scrolling through various weapons in the equipment screen, different weapons do change HP sometimes. That's an added incentive for you to use them if you value HP over defense or something.

yeh i have notchied that in the equipment just thought by changing diffrent equipment will give more HP when i level up?. Does all characters have 9999 HP when they all get to level 99?

You can't change the amount of HP you get at level up, to my knowledge.

My characters are at level 61 right now, and they don't even have 9999 HP with a bubble belt on, so I don't think they'll have 9999 hp bare at 99. Although I haven't levelled to 99 so I can't say for sure!

Just out of curiosity, Rubah. When did you actually get the game?

haha Hazard, she lives in america (look at her location - Arkansas) she has had it for a number of months now!
Oh, and i dont think that you can change the amount of HP gained by leveling either, but im no expert

Most characters have around 5000-6000hp at 99
maybe a little higher even, but that's pretty much it for my file

w00t ?

My guys are at 4,000 - 4,200 HP or 8,000+ with bubble belts at level 64.

Does the Clan Rank make a difference ?

I was subtracting the 850hp or so in augments you get.

So in actualality, they have around 6000-7000 after augments, before bubble.... I think at least. I'm currently doing a slightly.... powerleveled file for fun, and haven't checked my other file which is 99/99/99/75/75/75 with all 45 marks defeated.

Just loaded it to check. 6200 Vaan, 6300 Basch, 5800 Ashe.
All wearing Heavy armor(so no HP boost)
All with the 1000(500+200+150+100+50) in HP augments.
So...
4800-5300 + the 1000 in augments + up to 1600? HP in gear. =
Some 99 characters wearing light armor might top out at 8000 hp barely before bubble.
Without Armor or augments though, the HP is right around 5000.
Perhaps I will try to get the second file up to 99 as well to see if there is any random variations in the HP system, although I believe they would probably be small and not be more than 300hp or so by 99.

By the way.... Ghis is fun at level 23 with 3 gladius daggers.

With bubble: Do your guys get to 9,999 max or do they break HP limit ?

They break HP limit, it is just not seen.

9999/6000~

Something can hit them for a small amount, like 500, and unless my eyes are deceiving me, they do not lose HP.

If equipping +HP armor helps get more hp at level up, i haven't noticed it yet.
It either doesn't or its so small an increase that it's not noticeable.

ValiantKnight

bubble belts are bought from the clan provisioner in the muthru bazaar.
They double your max hp by giving you auto-bubble

how your Vaan be level 31 and have that amount of HP.
I think I'm doing something wrong because my Vaan has exactly the same and he's level 35...

thats strange, i think the hp system is random must be  i mean i thought being that level my HP would be higher than it is!

Hazzard

Hmm, you might just have more augments on or certain *raise HP* weapons/armour on. Cause i don't have any of that on except the augments!

Adam 77

that must be the reason, i have learned all of the HP Licenses and thats how much HP i got at that level? seems rather low to me i dunno what to think if the level up system is random with HP increase??

ok i just levelled up im level 33 with vann and he gained 40 hp as he levelled up i mean a lousy 40??? is this right, or am i just using the wrong equipment to give me more of a boost as i level up?

HP does not make that much of a difference in XII. Armor, Accessories and buffer spells do: Bravery, Fayth, Protect, Shell, Bubble.

Aaaah it seems our puzzle is solved, so i'm not a guy who's struggling with HP!!!

Adam 77

yeh im glad to know my HP isnt struggling too, but still on the topic it seems to me that everyones HP is diffrent at the same levels, so it is random by the looks of it, oh well its just like FF9 the HP was random on that game too! :mad2:

Vaan is 33 now in my second playthrough.
He has around 2200-2300 hp with all HP augments.

If there is a random element to HP growth in XII, I think it is very small...
Say... on your level up, if it was random the range would only be a few HP.... 37-42hp maybe and you got 40.
I don't think its that large if there is a random factor.

Defense value(can greatly reduce damage taken)
Magic resist(the highest mystic helm, i think it cuts spell damage in half)
Bubble(double HP!)
Protect/Shell(haven't looked at hard stats or anything, but I think they are 30% reduction?)

All of those play a big part. HP growth is kinda small, and as mentioned, even at 99 with light armor, you are barely going to scratch 7500, maybe 8000 with basch maybe.... ashe/fran are usually lower in max hp. Although that doubles to 15,000hp which isn't too shabby.

thanks for the advice i really appreciate it :) this is my first time through this game i just arrived in jara and my characters levels are

Vann 36 Fran 29 Ashe 29 Balthier 29 Penelo 29 Basch 29

which isnt that bad, so far this game i think is pretty good, just thought i was doing something wrong with the way levelled up but HP doesnt seem that important so all good! :D

Hmmm wonder if my chars can beat yours:

Vaan- 38
Fran- 31
Basch- 31
Ashe- 30
Balthier- 30
Penelo- ...20

I'm in the second temple place-i think it's time to level up mainstream, cause if you're at Jahara for your 1st time and your at those levels that worries me...But I'm far from struggling with the fiends, they're as easy as eating apple crumble!!!
