Is it just me or does it seem that there are a whole lot of good movies coming out this year than last year. There's about 9 movies that I'm waiting to see this year, I've already seen two though.
Smokin Aces
Pan's Labyrinth
Daddy's Little Girls
Spiderman 3
Rush Hour 3
Resident Evil Extinction
TMNT
300
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix(Hear that it has new director maybe it'll better than the rest, maybe).
What's up with this year and t\movies that are coming out I hear that Ghost Rider's Trah and there's also Fantastic Four and the legend of the Silver Surfer coming out too, it'll probably be lame. i think I heard of Iron Man, but I might be wrong.

i'm pretty sure i remember every year to be promising until after the summer when most of the movies that are expected to rock the socks merely end up tickling your toes at best.

I want to see the new Fantastic Four movie, because I used to be a huge fan of Silver Surfer and the first one was okayish. My main gripe was teh battle with Dr. Doom being completely lame. Otherwise, it wasn't bad as far as superhero movies go.
Other than that, probably 300. The Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, The Simpsons Movie, The Bourne Ultimatum, and the new Harry Potter. And probably His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass, because my girlfriend is a fan of the books.

Is it just me, or did they make silver surfer out to be the evil villian? If so, i have no hope for the superhero movies, cept for spidey and xmeners ^^

The Silver Surfer, for sections of his mythos, is a villain. I wouldn't be surprised if his reformation into a good guy is included in the film, as that's supposed to happen on earth (I think).
I spent a little too much time looking up the backgrounds of comic book characters on Wikipedia not long ago, in case it doesn't show.

I think the Silver Surfer in this movie is the very beginning of the Silver Surfer, or at least the part where he is in the employ of Galactus. I wouldn't be surprised if the next Fantastic Four movie they made included the aforementioned world devourer as the main villian. And perhaps this movie will contain a foreshadow of that event.

As do I my friend. We can thank Sony for having it delayed over half a year. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they put it in limited release, then dvd. Hollywood pisses me off.

They've said already that Galactus isn't in this movie, but his presence will be felt. Silver Surfer will indeed be an antagonist I believe (though Doom is supposed to be in there as well, even ruling latveria I think), but he is not a villian, and I've read nothing that suggests they wrote him as evil. He's just the misunderstood herald for a fundamental force of the Universe.
Anywho, my must see movies this year are 300, Spider-Man 3, Fantastic Four, and after seeing it here, the Bourne Ultimatum. I'll need to see Pan's Labrynth when it comes out on DVD since I missed it in theatres. There's probably a lot of other movies that I'll end up seeing, but aren't a necessity like TMNT (The animation doesn't impress me at all so hopefully the story delivers. On the other hand I heard Patrick Stewart voices the main villian, so I'll probably have to see it just for that).

Well, yes. There were three books and they've made 2 successful movies. They aren't going to stop at just 2/3.

I never stated he was going to be in the movie. I simply said that perhaps they will foreshadow it for the eventual next Fantastic Four movie. Through a mention at the end of the credits or something of the sort. Nor did I actually say that Silver Surfer was evil.

My surfer comment was more to NINJA_Ryu who was wondering if they made him out to be an evil villian. And I realize you never stated Galactus would be in the movie. I simply clarified that he definitely isn't in it for all those watching at home. Though if he makes an appearance in a third movie (and that would be the only logical thing to follow a Silver Surfer movie with, not to mention that his original appearance is one of the biggest stories in Marvel history), I'll kill to see it, even if the second turns out to be a bore.

I'm surprised that i heard Ghost Rider made so much money as a low level Marvel character I would expect the movie to be terrible!
I forgot the Simpsons and Golden Compass too.

Everyone I've talked to, and every review I read said it was terrible, but that has to do with a crappy script and acting though and not the character. Of course being a Marvel comics movie, it was bound to make a lot of money before people found out it was crap.

Ive only watched Norbit, Ghost Rider, Epic Movie, Night at the Museum and Hot Fuzz this year, and most of those were this month/last. The worst out of those is between Ghost rider and Epic movie, but epic movie was really really awful so that wins the worst :D~
It was just like watching Narnia again, OH GOD HOW I HATED THAT FILM.
Im looking forward to the Mr Bean holiday the most :excited:
