OMG this update is taking FOREVER to download. Its already been 3.5 hours and it seriously says time remaining unknown. Not to mention this is the 3rd time I have gotton a d/c. I cant believe people have already downloaded and are playing as I write this. :mad2:

please tell me im not the only one having troubles here.

Edit: There was an announcement about congestion with the update but I didn't read it. Haha. Probably everybody and their brother downloading it at the same time so they can pick servers.

I tried downloading it and it DC'd in the middle. Then when I start up again it tries to reinstall Playonline Viewer for some reason. I cancel out of that and it gives me an error saying Viewer wasn't installed correctly and I need to reinstall it from the CD. My girlfriend has the CD so now I can't play at all.

That would not be good if everyone tries to update and tomorrow, when SE checks the status, there are zero characters logged in. Uber failure to the max.

Well, I d/l all night. D/C twice. I woke up this morning with only 337 files left to be downloaded and 9:50:30 hours left. :mog:

My friend (in RL) called me and asked me if my download was taking as long as his. I lied and said "Nah man. My sh*t downloaded in like 30 minutes." Then after about a minute I told him the truth and we complained about the amount of time for a few minutes. All good.

I brought it to work so maybe I can finish the download while im here. :p

I downloaded during sleepy time. I woke up at about 5:30am this morning and noticed it was finished. All in all, it took about 5.5 hours. No TP loss is super duper. :p

Already downloaded the update on my 2 PCs last night and already downloaded the update on the Xbox 360 this afternoon. I'm good to go:)

My update didn't take too long, about 2 hours, and I started and finished it during the maintenance, I guess not too many people were updating then, because there was only about 200 people on pandy within an hour of the servers being back up, and OMFG whitegate was actually non-laggy!

I took a look at some of the new equips at ffxiclopedia and it looks like they've made a Lionheart (Squall's best weapon) greatsword that's quite disapointing, especially for a lvl 75 weapon, also a Sasuke Katana (best ninja weapon in many FFs) seems to have been implemented as a similarly disapointing lvl 75 weapon.
Correct me if I'm wrong but that's the way I see them, I am only a lvl 45 whm though.

Maybe they have some sort of hidden effects, idk, it doesn't say.

I would not be surprised if the Masamune (when implemented) will be a mediocre lvl 75 Gkatana ex/rare with 450 delay, dmg 70~80, and no special effects.

The Anniversary Ring seems interesting, if rechargable (100% xp boost (dedication) for up to 3k xp total and 12 hrs ) but I highly doubt it.

Also, it seems they're focusing a lot on drk lately, with drain-tp, drain-spell casting time/2, and now Drain2 and Dread spikes...

Has anyone noticed that ever since this update random people have had d/c problems in various odd places? Its not just like a normal d/c but everytime you enter a certain area you get it. :confused: Had this happen with promy dem and a BCNM

Yes and I'm angry. I started a new character and I can't complete Bastok 2-1 because I disconnect in the highlands EVERY TIME. >.>

Though there are heaps of updates that will be coming for certain bugs and things that happened in the current update. So maybe it'll fix what has happened with the disconnections.

Yea that makes no sense.. It doesn't recognize your IP or MAc address yet it still knows you have one thus you still can't connect. YOu should be able to connect then unless they just lose connections completely. I wonder what type of system do they use to run these servers on...

It has something to do witht he routers, and it sounds similar to when xbox live first launched. Very few people could connect because of their router or if they updated their router's firmware..
