Okay, I am in a Drafting class at my high school and I wanted to enter a competition on Studica.com. The topic for the competition was to make a household item and I decided to make a guitar. It is an Ibanez JEM7VWH. It took around 75-100 hours of work in class and on my lunches.

NOW, HERE'S WHERE YOU COME IN!

I need votes! All you have to do is click the link below and scroll right, enter the 3 letters in the box and click, "Vote for this entry to win" (or whatever it says). Now, I understand, maybe you'll like someone else's entry more than mine, by all means vote for them, too (you get 3). But, I am confident that this guitar is one of the most detailed, elaborate, sexy things I have ever made (and I made a Lamborghini last year, haha) and that you will appreciate my hard work.

If anyone wants higher quality bitmaps, they'll have to wait until I return to school on the 19th.

I suppose this thread could be put elsewhere, but I believe it is art!

Thank you to all who vote! I cannot thank you enough!

I UPDATED THE LINK! THANK YOU, AGAIN! :D

Here are two more entries into the competition I just entered. One is of my friend's Mesa Boogie Roadster that he made and the other is for a Lamborghini Gallardo, which we both worked on.
Check 'em out!

The amount of detail is superb. What are you planning to do with all that talent?

If we vote and you win, do we get a guitar? I'd play that.

Kidding.

Anyway, it's very elegant. I like it a lot. Nice job!

Hopefully automotive design, I want to work for BMW or Mercedes-Benz! :D

The geometry is skillfully crafted, though the textures look a bit flat. I voted for it anyways!

Wouldn't 3Dstudio have been a better program of choice for that kind of model? :p

Alright, here's the thing. Inventor 11 isn't a rendering program, per sé. It is used to create assemblies and test whether they will function under given work-stresses, create blueprints etc. Inventor 11 has limited texture options, too and I was fighting with the lighting to get a good white, but it always turned out gray... 3ds max, on the other hand, is used for realistic rendering.

Your vote is mucho appreciated, though!:D

Yeah, I figured. It looks similar to AutoCAD which I used a few years ago when I studied electronics. I never played around with the 3D features of that program though.

I see it's made by Autodesk though, so maybe it's possible to export it as a 3DS file? :p

Yeah. You can do that, but I have no clue how to use 3Ds Max. I wish I did, though. I've seen pictures that I swore were real, but turned out to be mere renders... Also, it is an INVENTOR Competition, lol. :p

Ah, I see.

I noticed you said that you don't know how to use 3Ds Max, but have you ever thought of branching out to other 3D design programs? Blender is pretty fantastic and free, and I'd imagine you'd have little trouble creating something really good with it. That guitar shows you have some real talent for 3D design.

Ooh! Neat. Free is always good. I shall check it out and maybe, if I end up liking it, I'll post some stuff up here in the future...

I'M IN THE LEAD! HELP ME SUSTAIN IT! XD!!!THANK YOU TO EVERYONE!

Thread has been updated.

If you wanna see the ultimate in joke entries for that competition, my friend and I entered a whole bunch of DragonQuest slimes in different textures under the moniker Leet Hax from the Yukon. Check it out for a laugh...I don't suggest voting for it, though... :D :rolleyes2 ;)
