View Full Version : Trapped in the Underground?

So I am replaying FFIV on a ROM, and I think I may have broken the game - ruining my single save game (I know, I know, I should use more than one).

So I was at the point in the game where I got the drill installed on my Underground airship and went back above ground (I had just beaten the Crystal Cave and gotten the Big Whale and all that). I went back underground to complete the Excalibur, but I used my original Falcon airship (since I had been forced to use the hovercraft earlier in the Excalibur quest). After getting the sword from the blacksmith, with my hovercraft and airship parked next to his little shop, I saved and quit.

When I came back to my game, the hole back up to the above-world had closed, and I was trapped underground in a drill-less airship. Is there any way to fix this?

Is my saved game totally screwed?

That's rather odd to say the least. You've tried hitting "A" above the hole?

The only thing I can think of is going to King Giott and hoping that Cid re-installs the drill. Otherwise I think it's impossible to get out even with Game Genie Codes.

Also, how did you get the Hovercraft to the Underground?
