I don’t care. If I ever have to use the name of the symbol, I just use the first one I think of. It’s usually point (because that is how I was taught), but mark still springs up here and there.

I've always been told it mark and i've always referred to it as a mark so meh...i'll carry on with this for the rest of time! :D

A point is a small dot or square, such as a period. The exclamation mark has a point, but it is not a point itself.
