I have to do this - I went to high school in Maryland.
Anyway, this is not the fantasy thread; this is the actual tournament thread to discuss the games and players and how much Duke sucks. Emphasis on the last part.

Duke blows. And Gonzaga losing really fucks up my bracket because I had them going to the Elite Eight. Still have complete faith in my Final Four picks, especially A&M, they played like champs.

My dad picked ORU and Penn for his bracket. Don't ask me. And he had Duke (and had them winning the next round, too). He was cheering along with me for Duke to go down, though.
I didn't join in because I haven't paid much attention to college basketball since high school. But I'm with my dad now and we watched a lot of today's games, and Duke losing has made me happy. Did I mention that Duke sucks?
I feel like I'm browsing Fark!

Thanks for reminding me, Jowy. The Fark thread also makes me happy.
Although now I really have trouble caring what happens in the tournament. Maryland going far would be good, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'll just keep rooting for the upsets.
EDIT: Duke sucks.

I didn't want them to win, but picked them to win a game. Looking back, I did watch the CAA Final between VCU and GMU, and probably should have picked VCU based on the performance I saw then. But 13/16 on day one picks, with all three blips coming on teams that I didn't pick to win another game, isn't half bad. I didn't enter the EoFF pool, though I should have.
I was happy to see Xavier come back. Dang Zags didn't do me justice, though. Indiana hadn't impressed me this year.

VCU and Maryland lost. :( Now I have little desire to even watch the games.
P.S. Duke sucks.

I was proud of myself for placing Vandy in the Sweet 16, but wtf @ UNLV over Wisconsin.

man I wish Xavier had beaten Ohio State.
And Wisconsin was absolutely horrible. Big Ten basketball sucks.
All the teams I had any local interest in (Ga Tech, Wash State, Gonzaga, Xavier) lost already. I guess I will cheer for Oregon. And Memphis is good.

Oh man, I didn't see much of that game but when I saw the scores I was cheering Xavier on big time. A 1 seed that many people picked to win everything getting knocked out early? That would've been amazing. I don't even know where Xavier is.

It's somewhere in Ohio.
My bracket cried a little tonight. I went 12-4 in the second round, but had my first future-round loss (I had UT beating UNC to make the Elite Eight). My final four is still there, though G-Town and A&M will have to play much better to make it much further. Yesterday nearly gave me a heart attack.

Xavier is in Cincinnati. And Ohio State refuses to play either Xavier or the University of Cincinnati because it doesn't want to get beat. OSU finally played Cincy this year, knowing that Cincy had a horrible team. The last two times they played before this year were the national championship games in 1961 and 62, both won by Cincinnati. OSU had repeatedly refused to play Cincy before this year.
This tournament was only the fifth time OSU had played Xavier. And the coach of Ohio State left Xavier to coach OSU after taking Xavier to the elite eight three years ago.
But I'm certain OSU will lose to Tennessee, or Memphis, or Texas A&M.

Egads, my second round picks were pretty shaky. At least all of my elite eight are still in the tournament.
USC has really surprised me. Granted, I've never really been that impressed with Texas (with the obvious exception of Durant), but I didn't even think USC would make it to the second round. I think they'll give UNC some good competition.

I'm sure as hell hoping they will. It will be a lot easier for G-Town to beat USC than UNC. I had UT knocking their shots down to beat UNC, but not doing so to let G-Town make the F4.

This is my kind of thread. :)
I don't like basketball as a rule, but something about attending UNC makes it all seep into your blood. I don't make brackets and stuff, but I just had to make my presence known.
Raisin, we've found something to agree on. Duke Sucks!

The only team I have left to support is UNC. I was pulling for Texas Tech; they got their asses kicked by Boston College. Next team I pulled for was UT (Longhorns); they got their asses kicked by USC. And I can care less for the Aggies. I hate them as much as I hate the Sooners.

Yay! Duke really does suck. Although I can't say I'm very fond of UNC. They're almost always a top team and since I don't give a damn about 99% of the teams, I like to see upsets. So if they start sucking more, I could root for them!

UNC sucked when Matt Doherty was the coach.

I'll be honest, I'm really wanting to see Kansas and UNC at the end of it all. This'll be Roy Williams' third coaching year at UNC, and the seniors on the Kansas team are Williams' last scout before he left the school. It would be interesting to see how that played out.
I don't think USC will beat us. Their win over Texas was an upset, though not a very big one (Texas was fourth seed, USC fifth if I have this right, it may be third and fourth respectively). I think if anyone takes us out of the dance, it'll be A&M. That's based on what my friends who know things tell me. xD
Also, Duke Sucks.

Georgetown is a 2 seed that a lot of people (including my dad) have picked to go to the Final Four. Georgetown played... BC, I believe. It was a really close game and I was cheering BC on. That would've been as great as an Ohio State loss.

Memphis won! I picked them to win it all. everyone seems to be in love with texas a&m but they screwed up and fouled with 3 seconds left.
edit: go Tennessee. destroy ohio state.

not shocking because Ohio State sucks. Big Ten basketball is so overrated. Especially Wisconsin. But Ohio State too.

That "kid" is Acie Law IV aka Captain Clutch. It was a devastating loss, but A&M wouldn't even be in this position or maybe even in the tournament without him. Honestly, if A&M had to lose, it would have to be him messing up. Though that mistake won't tarnish the amazing run he's had in his four years with the Aggies. He has a bright future ahead of him in the NBA.
There is a lot of Buckeye hate in this thread. I would think clamping down on defense and having your guards explode in the second half while losing your franchise post player to foul trouble ought to garner some praise. Granted the Vols could've played better, but overcoming the biggest deficit in sweet sixteen history isn't complete squadoosh.

And I thought he got bumped by the defender right before he went up.
My bracket just went kablammo. Lost a Final Four team.

And my entire Final Four is in. :D Let's see how Oden matches up with a kid taller, more experienced, and just as much as a defensive beast as him. OSU - Georgetown was my must-see game on my bracket.
I can't wait 'til the 31st.
