Still Shrine of Mariam Boss, and Ancient Sword gone! =O Please Help!

The boss with all of the Elementals following him around is really getting on my last nerve. Help would really be appriciated :sweat:.

Ashe is at Level 30
Baltheir just reached 30 thismorning
Fran is at Level 30
Basche is at Level 30
Penelo is at Level 25 >>;
and, Vann is sadly at Level 23 ><

Iv'e got a few Ice Sheilds on hand, but I accidenlty sold Ashe's Ancient Sword. I wanted to see how good she would be with a Loxy Bow in combat and was selling stuff, so.. the sword is gone, is there any way I could buy her another one?
Also I need to find a way to get Teleporting stones.

The thing I found really annoying was that Mateus insists on casting Sleep every 10 seconds. Equip a bunch of Nishijin Belts on everyone and just use physical attacks. I casted Fira a couple of times to get rid of the elementals.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but I think the Ice Azers are Immune to Fire Elemental attacks.

Ice Elementals and Ice Azers are immune to Fire...So yeah, that person was lying/mistaken ;)

Maybe they used Thundara? As that does 2x Damage.

Your levels are more than good enough. I won with my three main characters at level 27. Other than that, follow everyone else's advice. Equip Nishijin belts if you have them (I didn't and I was okay), spam thundara and try to nail a quickening chain when Mateus is down to a quarter/third of its health.

As for teleport stones, my advice is to hunt marks. They're often given as rewards, and also they'll be avaliable to buy in the clan shop in the bazaar once you go up a rank or two.

Flametounges if they are available. If not use some technicks. And if your clan level is high enough, you can buy teleport stones. Alternatively, you can fight until you get some in the Sandsea (the area, not the bar).

Damn...You just know those drunks have some teleport stones so theres no need for a designated airship pilot...Could have stolen loads off them! :)

Spam cura and hit Mateus loads, ignore the ice azers. Then quickening when its low on HP, that'll do.

the ice azers heal mateus dont they? yeah, i phycally attacted all the time (gambit the party to attack who the party leader targets so you can pick them off quickly)

I don't remember Mateus being particularly hard. Threw a remedy at it to cast whatever status effects it was weak against on it, cleared up the Ice Azer things and then attacked for a while and then used Belias, and once he was done, finished it with a quickening. Ark Blast ftw :D

How do you get to this boss? Im at the part where you gotta turn the statue and it dont do nothin when I do turn it. And where can I go to get better weapons?

Please make sure you turn the statues to face the center of the shine! If you hit select and go to your map it will show you what direction the statues are facing! Good Luck!:D

You need to turn all the statues so they are facing the massive statue in the middle. I think their eyes glow when you face them the right way. Also, the best weapons are being sold at Mt. Bur-Ominasce at that point

I got stuck in this statue turning too! I made sure they were all facing the statue in my 2 D map, forgetting that it is a 3D dungeon and the statue actually is in the center :(

Here is the deal:
Left and right statues have to face each other. Center statue has to face the door where you entered the stillshrine (north)

you can get icebrand sword (65 attack i think) by getting a battle chain from the undeads, and they drop some other cool armour too.

Lol Mateus is immune/healed by icebrand, duhhh :P

my advice, go for one handed weapons but not the flametounge (coz i think mateus is immune to fire though he's ice element) so that you can use the ice shields, anti sleep acc., best armor, and just unload quickening chain right then and there when all his ice azers are near by....
when you finish one chain, move away one of your characters to use the charge technik for him to spam healing and let the other two rip mateus apart.....
but it's really up to you...
