Pff, they honour it way too much. The game has flaws as a port, but those aren't mentioned at all. Don't take this wrong, VI is a great game really, but rigth now I'm beginning to get a bit sick of all the VI praising. It's good but not holy or flawless. And I hate how they bashed later FF titles, even if that wasn't their intention (couldn't really make it up from the review, I'm bad at such stuff). Bad review in my humble little opinion.

It's strange. First it's all VII, now VI is rereleased and all other GBA releases and FF III DS are suddenly not good enough anymore. No, it's always "Get VI! Awesome story!". All other ports are suddenly pushed in the background, never even mentionned when somebody asks for advice about which GBA FF to get. III and V most of all, I think. III is bashed everywhere for being what it was intended to be, and all people ever give V credit for is job-system and Gilgamesh. Always IV and VI. Much more VI than IV now. Geez, they really are overdoing it with the VI praising. It's getting as far as overrated.

Just my opinion from looking around on lots of FF fora... Don't hate me for it.

There are tons of threads to bitch about which FF is better than which and vice versa. :p Do you really think that was a reference to us, Necro? It does seem a little odd that they would actually say "FF," but it's kinda cool regardless. Still, it's too bad it's not from a better souce. G4 is one :skull::skull::skull::skull:ty channel, and I've never liked X-Play's review system much at all, or their (usually) horribly lame attempts at humor.

X-Play's quality has gone up significantly since they got some better writing talent on board, and yes, Eyes on FF is a subtle reference to us.

Yes, G4 doesn't seem to understand what a video game review is. All they did was praise the game for the same praise it always receives, and bashed on later titles in the series. I understand just as well as anyone else here that FFVI is a legendary game, but it isn't perfect. And the GBA port isn't perfect either.

It'd just be nice if people could praise one of the games without bashing the others to make one game look better in an evaluation, at least once.

I'm on this page. VI deserves its praise, but I don't think any of the following titles deserve to be bashed. But that's just how G4 operates. It's sort a humor for the sake of it thing. I truly believe they entertain themselves by igniting fanrage :hahaha:.

Hey, I'm just happy the game got some plublicity for once...
7/10 are the well known ones and i'm happy that they are encouraging others to try the game as well...

Wow, they didn't really go into anything that was new about the game (except mentioning dragon's den), and spent considerable percentage of it talking about things that were going to remain in the game!

The FFVI FanBoy-ism (FanGirlism?) that they just sneak in at the end came off really awkward. Is the best way to promote VI really to make up faults about the later games???

Psh I don't care if they're praising the game too much, it's my all-time favorite. I don't think they necessarily bashed the other games later on in the series, they just made fun of the plot and characters for humor purposes. I probably won't buy FFVIA though, it doesn't seem that enough has changed to really convince me to.
