Just a quick question; what does Rosa's "Pray" actually DO?
I'm playing FFIV for the first time (Advance actually) and just got her. "Pray" never connects and I'm wondering what it actually does or under what condition it works.
It it restorative, like Yuna's, but only SOMETIMES?

I believe it provides a low restore to health, if not, then it is quite possible that it is useless.

Pray casts Cure on all of your characters, which after the Mom Bomb battle is completely worthless. 8-)

However if you manage to get through Rosa's stupidly difficult trial in the Lunar Ruins with a perfect score, you'll get Pray upgraded to Miracle which casts Curaga - That's kind of spiffy.

Kind of spiffy, but still WAY less powerful than Curaja.

Does it still fail all the time?

I must of been having extremely bad luck when I got her, because it succeeds almost 100% of the time now :riiight:

It rarely fails for me. However, I find myself rarley using the "extra" options of all characters because I grew up with the US version that didn't have them. I've just learned how to play without using them.

It's spelled "rarely," not "rarley."

That's me... the Grammar Gestapo!

The first time I used pray it worked and I thought it was pretty spiffy. After that, it just started working less and less, so I thought the more you used it the less it works. I only used it about 10 times before I gave up on it tho. :P

It's just there for when you don't have anything better to do with Rosa's turn.

Whoops, I know how to spell it. I just made a typo.

Okay, so that means Rosa's free healing ability will not only get improved, but it will also work more frequently. Even if it casts Curaga and not Curaja, it's still useful to keep casting it in normal battles since it heals for no MP cost. Besides, I use Cura and Curaga mostly anyway, only using Curaja during some tough battles and bosses.

If Rosa is equipped with a White Ring Pray will be replaced with Miracle. It has a small chance of restoring around 1000 HP to everyone and healing status ailments.

How do you get this White Ring, then? Do you have to beat Rosa's trial in the Lunar Ruins?

You need to heal all of the characters in Rosa's Trial without encountering a fake victim. After the battle with Lunar Asura you'll get a White Ring from one of the Townspeople.

Is that side-quest only in the new re-released version of FFIV? I've never heard of it previously...

It's only in the GBA Version.
