The official campaign for the French Presidency hasn't started yet, but one wouldn't know it.
Segolene Royal has been feted by her party in Paris.
"I know what I owe my party," she told the cheering crowd. "I know what I owe the more militant among you."
Then, unusually for a socialist meeting, they played the Marseillaise.
Royal may have risen in the latest poll but Nicolas Sarkozy remains the man to beat.
A survey for a French newspaper said he would win an election if it was held today.
But it also showed that he had dropped a few points and, with every vote precious, tonight he is concentrating on the youth ballot, addressing youngsters in the capital.
Francois Bayrou, lurking in the shadow of them both, appears to have lost a little ground too.
But he is successfully worrying both the candidates in front of him - as well as the one trailing in his wake.
The National Front's Jean-Marie Le Pen insists Bayrou is a stalking horse, only running as a ploy to stop him suceeding.
But Le Pen insists he will be in the second-round run off, just as he was in 2002.

Soon the French people will be casting there votes to elect there next president, so I guess it's only right that EoFF casts the first votes.
Here are the Canidites [In the order left to right in that picture]
Sarkozy- aka "Angry Midget", small, yet loud and tries to get in everyone's pan... I mean, hearts ! Wants to turn France into an American State and change it into something the French people don't want for a big part of them. Will sell his mother to become prez.
Bayrou- aka "Naive Boy" or "Candid", wants to make everyone work together for France's good, enthusiastic, has a good contact and slaps kids that steal from his pocket (recorded on TV, and the kid really deserved the slap. I saw him) Yet, has the charisma of a pot of clay. But learns quick and is looking better than in 2002.
Royal- aka "Mom", hot looking MILF, tries to be everyone's Mom and speaks to people as if they were little kids (has a teacher background) Also, runs for a party that's still looking for coherent ideas. HATES ANIME! (is still in the process of banning all Japanese culture in France)

[Update] The people have spoken Lepen is our newest canadit through sweaping votes!
Lepen - aka "One-eyed Faschist", wants to take France out of the EU and Euro, wants to kick foreigners and anyone not "french" enough out of here. I don't care, it'll be like a free-ride back in Bosnia, unless he makes us pay for our expulsion. Said "Auschwitz is just a detail of History" Lepen also likes to hit opponents (punched and bit a political opponent some years ago)
