Hi everyone.

Sometime ago, I went to Gamefaqs to see if there was any White Mage Guide, and the one I found was really really bad, the dude tells you to buy the Lvl 5 Magic when arrving to Onrac... that means no lvl 6 or 7 magic yet. And the dude beat the game at lvl 41, when I beat it at 30.

Anyways, seeing the mediocrity of this guy, I decided to make a completely new White Mage Walkthrough. The question is, should I make the guide assuming the reader is new to FF? (That is, explaining the basic game mechanics, etc.) or should I make it assuming the reader is experienced in FF?

The thing is that I think every Video Game guide should be written assuming the reader doesn't know anything, that helps everyone. But then, probably only experienced players try 4 White Mages.

I'd say make it assuming that they've played the game (you don't need to explain any basics), but aren't obsessed with it enough that they already know mechanics, what every single spell does off the tops of their heads, etc. Basically, so it's accessible to someone who has only played through once or twice, and is now wanting a challenge for the third time through.

I'd suggest you skip some of the basics and assume that the people using the walkthrough have already beat the game at least once. As you said, those who try the 4 White Mage challenge are most likely familiar with the game already. However, boss tips could still be very useful, and the same can be said about level suggestions, so the gamer gets some kind of an idea about how much leveling up is required to survive the following dungeons with the White Mages.

yea, id say write it as the reader is experienced.

Very well, I'll write it assuming the reader is experienced. Thanks everyone!
