I have two questions for you

How far do you reckon you can swim?
and
What's your favourite stroke?

Also share some interesting stories you have of swimming pools incidents (eg relieving yourself in the pool, losing your trunks to a loose nail on the water slide, slamming your head through the diving board, hot girls wearing bikinis etc).

I have also made a poll for the second of my questions so rather than wasting valuable seconds on that porno site do something worthwhile and vote!

lol I managed to begin a thread without using the word 'so'

Breaststroke was always my favourite, and I was quite good at it. People said I was good at Front Crawl too, but goddd that made me so tired so quickly ;_;

I don't swim much anymore, so I probably can't go very far.

I'm a poor swimmer, all I can do is front crawl :(

I'm a fairly decent swimmer but I don't bother with the butterfly, breast, blahityblah strokes. Screw 'em. As far as distance, I dunno, I've never tried. I have swam the distance of an olympic sized swimming pool a few times though. Back and forth and whatnot. Fun.

I got yelled at for saving my drowning brother once. That was stupid.

I'm good at breaststroke. Mainly cause i gotta lot of power when i swim and excel further than most people.
I remember when i used to get nasty cramps in the water and just float there in pain. Some swimming instructor had to help me out.

I like doing the freestyle. I'm a strong swimmer & have won medals for it.

I can swim but lack of consistency has sapped me of any concept of endurance.

I swim like a frog.

The longest distance I swam was probably a quarter of a mile across a cove.

I am to swimming what a rhino is to flying.

Backstroke is by far the most efficient way for me to swim, and also the way I know the best. Too bad it makes for limited visibility.

The longest distance I ever did in swimming class at school was 500 metres, but I reckon I could swim twice of that if my life was at stake.

I'm not a great swimmer, and since I haven't been to a pool in a while I don't think I could do many lengths before getting tired. My favourite stroke is backstroke, because it's so relaxing.

It has been forever since I have swam with consistency, though every summer I swim in the near by river back home. I really should get a membership at the local YMCA and start swimming. I love to swim and I'd say I am a decent swimmer.

I can swim the breadth of the river back home. I do not know how wide that is though.

Out of the choices there, my favourite would be front crawl, though my favourite in reality is the sidestroke (I think that is what it is called).

Yeah, it doesn't matter if you take a break, because you can usually float anyway :p.

I can hardly swim. ;[ I didn't learn until I was 13. Then again, it's not much my fault because we lived in Queens (pretty much one of the outskirts of NYC) until I was 8, and there aren't pools there, except icky public ones.

Breaststroke, because that's the quickiest way for me. Swimming is so fun when you learn how to do it.

Anyone up for swimming?

btw, I haven't gone swimming in a long time, so I guess I won't be able to swim very far if I go swimming all of a sudden.

I learned backstoke before I could swim, like normal people do and I couldn't see where I was swimming!!!
Once I was backstroking near the beach and after a while got tired, so I thought it was enough, but I couldn't find the ground and then I saw that the beach was really too far, like 3 pools or something. I got panicked and don't know how managed to stay on water without drowning till my dad came and saved me...The very next day I learned how to swim properly, not only on my back!!!:D
I don't have any pool stories...sorry...

Front crawl I vote this, because... It's, well it's normal.
Backstroke This is fun but you look like an idiot doing it.
Breaststroke Too, much, effort... Seriously, makes me pain.
Butterfly If you're gonna swim you're gonna swim, not faff around doing an impossible stroke.
Doggy Paddle Only when I cant be bothered
Kicking and screaming with armbands, floaters, a rubber ring and a personal lifeguard

I'd say the classic front crawl is my favorite way to swim. And I can't swim butterfly to save my life.

Front crawl - I'm best at this. 'Cause it's fast. And I can see.
Backstroke - Hate it. I always manage to bonk my head on something.
Breaststroke - When I'm dinking around, sure.
Butterfly - I dun like flailing about in the water trying to move.
Doggy Paddle - I sink too fast when I do this.
Kicking and screaming with armbands, floaters, a rubber ring and a personal lifeguard - Is the lifeguard hot?

Dolphin Kick - I heart this <3 It's fun!

I prefer the breast stroke I also use a cheated version of the back stroke just lying on my back and paddling with my feet at times, useful if you're just kicking back and relaxing. Used to be a strong swimmer too but I've grown lax though I still have powerful legs and lung capacity so I reckon I could go far.

I used to swim along time ago, like 5 years ago. My fav. is butterfly, it takes a lot of energy and muscles' using which help building up my muscles. I went to a swimming pool like 6 months ago -this was the last time- and I was in a bad shape cause I haven't done it for a long time.

I'd probably say drowning is for the weak, and the fish who fail.

I like to swim..
But I am not very good at it!
Mainly I notice this when at the beach and I see that I can't touch the bottom and have trouble getting back to shore! Not fun!
But yes the backstroke is relaxing and far more easy than other ways!:)
