I don't have anything like haste, dispel, dont know if i purchased any aga spells, you know the black magic kind. my characters are level 43, balthier and basch use franciscas, fran uses some sort of bow, does like 900+ damage. Technically she's the weakest. Tyrant just seems to hit really hard on me. i dont have a lot of spare armour, fran has the bone mail, the others mirror shields. is there any license board strategies, anything that will help me beat tyrant. dont tell me to sodding go back to whatever town to get such and such a magic, because ive died 3 times already, and its pissed me off. currently, im trying to get basch to fight on his own, getting him to take on vivians, and its alright, and he can take on mithril golems on his own as well.
but i dont want to be doing that with everybody. ill go insane.

I wouldn't condone the strategy of having two Axe wielding people in your party, mainly because the amount of attack points it differs from is ridiculous and is not reliable enough in battle sometimes. I like to traditionally set Basch as my Axe guy, but Balthier wields poles/spears.
I remember saying to myself that Tyrant was the easiest and worst boss ever. Maybe it was because Vaan was around level 55 and the others were 45.
But anyway, just bash attacks down on him and level up a bit more so that you're on the same levels as the fiends in that area. Every time he uses Graviga, just make sure you heal up and revive characters.

so many views and just one reply? My levels, pretty much are only one or two away from normal monster levels. I've heard Diamond Swords are good, is it worth me going back to Balfonheim port to get them? I may get another Mirror Mail as well, seeing as Bone Mail is a bit useless.

Your levels are ok. You need more skills, though, since you don't have certain ones such as Haste and Dispel. If your armor isn't upgraded, then upgrade it. Also, do you have Bubble? Bubble doubles your max HP, and this can help out. If your clan rank is high enough, then you can buy this spell from the Muthru Bazaar.
Anyway, this is what you should do:
1) Leave the area and buy the Dispel and Haste spell. Dispel'ing a boss's buffs will be a big help. This will be important in later battles as well (e.g. esp. when more and more foes have Bravery on). A foe with Bravery status can hit for a bit more damage than he would otherwise, so it's really important to dispel that.
2) While you're gone, go to Balfonheim Port and upgrade your armor/weapons to the best kind available.
3) Buy any other current spells from Balfonheim as well. Blizzaga will be especially useful for this battle because Tyrant is weak against ice.
If you are in need of gil to get the stuff you need, you can chain mirrorknights in the western section (Walk of Dancing Shadow) of the Feywood. Keep chaining them until you get 99 Windslicer Pinions. After that, go and sell all the loot. You should get 150000-200000 gil.
Having the Mage's Monograph will help you get more and better drops from them. It shows up as the Forgotten Grimoire in the Bazaar, which sells for 21000 gil. To make it available you have to talk to any magick merchant over 25 times.
If you want to do some leveling as well, go to the southern part of the Golmore Jungle (above a Feywood entrance). Equip everybody with Embroidered Tippets (doubles EXP points). Kill all the foes there. After you do this, skeletons will starts spawning. Start chaining them. You can do this until level 50. Each skeleton gives about 930 EXP w/o the ET on.
When you get back to try to take on the Tyrant again:
The very first thing to do at the beginning is Dispel. The important things to keep on are Protect and Haste. For your healing gambits, set everyone to use Curaja if HP gets less than 60%. Have Esuna or Remedy gambits ready to deal w/ Sap and any other ailments. Since you can't use technicks, use Ethers instead of Charge to help replenish some Mana if MP < 10%. You can have a person cast cast Blizzaga on Tyrant since he's weak against ice.

<3 Nice stuff there! I wasn't going to go back to the feywood, however, is there anything i can get from monsters in the cerobbi steppe which would sell for a nice bit? (jus bought some stuff from balfonheim, wanna go train in cerobi for a while)

Cerobi Steppe is a heaven of a land to train in, but i would advise your party to be around level 45-50 before going in there. There are a lot of flying foes, and make sure you equip the gambit: Flying-1000 needles. Then the whole thing becomes easier, especially if you have Reddas. The cats give you good loot, and can sell for around 800 Gil each. There are also Shield Wryms, which are all level 43/42 and take away HP to around 800-1200 at times. Make sure you have Bubble at hands, and just keep whacking them and heal when needed. They give you around 2800 EXP w/o Embroidered Tippets. So you can expect 5600 EXP if you have three of them at least. You should also make sure that once it's HP is critical; that you have your leader do the Technick: Poach. You will gain a Ring Wyrm Scale, which sells at around 1200 Gil.
Be careful if its the raining seasons and keep on guard of using magick if they're are any Ice Entites around. Back on to the Wyrms: you can be well assured that you will steal their item, and don't get near to them unless you have more than 2500 HP and are 45-50 on levels. There's plenty to of them fiends in the Cerobi, and they're not hard to find because they're massive. Oh yeah, and be careful about the cats and make sure you dispose of them before they use their Blaster attacks. Which may well give you a load of status ailments, and zap away 1000-1500 HP at times.
Happy leveling, and the chaining you can do their is jolly well splendid.

Setzer try ice, Tyrant is weak against ice. EDIT (rats, Shiva_ beat me to it). Have you tried DRAIN ? It is excellent against any foe that is not immune or undead. It heals you and it hurts the foe at the same time

Giruvegan is a very profitable place to level up: Behemoths drop Behemoth Steak, Vivians drop Malboro fruit, Gargoyles drop Demons eye and the clay golems drop some pretty expensive stuff too. Just walk around the Gate of Water and the Gate of Fire kicking butt :D:D:D
