Well I'm on a vacation where I thought that I wouldn't be getting any internet. I get to the house we are staying at and, after walking around the entire house I have found a spot (which I moved a couch to) where my laptop can leech 1 bar off of someone's internet :mwahaha:

Have you ever done anything like this?

My friend used to bring his laptop over to my mom's house since we could get full wireless access from someone in the neighborhood. It's a pretty awesome thing to have.

My friend and I once spent an hour or so driving around a richie neighborhood trying to get a signal from the street. We needed directions to where we were going.

I already have my wireless connection, but when I check there is another wireless connection from my neighbor which is blocked, of course!

No. I think that somebody used to leech off me, though. Back in the good old days.
I wanted the abuse, anyway.

Yeah. I was recently in the United States (my dad had to attend some college reunion thing) and I had my laptop and the house we were staying at was close enough to the school that I could get internet via my wifi card by walking down the street a little.

We had internet at the house but the university wifi was so much faster. Plus I got to sit under the night sky on the corner chatting with people back home. It was nice. :)

I was using someone else's conection once and a while. Once when we where trying to get ours to work and other time when it just went out on us. Their conection has pretty much just become a backup in case I'm in the middle of something that I need a conection for and mine goes out. So annoying when another family member trys to conect their computer and changes something they shouldn't and you can't get it to work again for a few days or a week or two.

I really ought to thank my neighbors some day.
