Hey everyone,my sister has FF VIII on PS1, so I started to get into FF through that and now want one of my own (preferably on PC as we only have that and a PS1).
The only ones on PC I've found so far are VIII but that won't work on XP, and FFXI online. My internet isn't the fastest in the world so in short -
does a Final Fantasy for PC using XP with a single player, offline mode exist? Thanks everyone, Rob :)

Have you searched for patches to get them to work on XP?

The only other FF released on the PC was FFVII, and I believe people have told me it was kind of buggy, but I can't remember. If you can, I'd just get that, FFIX, and FF Anthology (contains FFV and VI), Chronicles (containing FFIV and Chrono Trigger) and Tactics for the PSX.

Thanks for that! I've had a few more looks around the PC FF8 sites and ironically found a link to the FF8 section of this site (http://www.eyesonff.com/ff8/), there is a link bottom left to "non-GeForce Bug Patch", someone on a random forum said this made it run smoothly on their XP. If anyone knows about this, or any other XP fixes please let me know! I'm not sure if this is all worth it thought as gamespot said "Final Fantasy VIII for the PC is a completely inadequate conversion of the attractive yet problematic console role-playing game."....is this accurate?I have found a PC fix for FF7, but would prefer 8 :P Finally I also (in the long, quality time i spent on google this evening) found this site http://www.finalfantasyxionline.com/content/finalfantasyxi-requirements.php which doesn't list a internet connect as a "required spec" for FFXI. Is this right? A single player feature would be great! Thanks for all the help again,Rob
