Is this game out on PS2 or any game system?

It was released for the PS2, but I don't think they're making PS2 copies anymore. Besides, you can't use the slim PS2, because the slim PS2 can't fit a hard drive.

It's been out for the PS2 since 2004. where have you been?

But yeah, it's discontinued now. You could only get it on the PC or the Xbox 360

Yeah, 2004 for NA, and something like 2001 for JP - when it was released for PS2.

You could either just get the PC version (which is infinitely better) or get the Xbox 360 version, which is decent too. Or you could probably find the old PS2 with HDD and FFXI on eBay somewhere (I think you might be able to order it through SquareEnix directly, but they may have stopped that).

Either way, Sony decided to ditch the PS2 with HDD support, so it'll be hard to find.

The console version that is currently supported by SQUARE ENIX personnel is the XBox 360 version.

If you cannot play it on a PC, I would recommend getting the Xbox 360 version rather than the Playstation 2 version for reasons mentioned above.

What is the PC version and where can I get it?How many characters can you create up to?

Not sure what the limit is... but you have to pay $1 for each extra one. One of the bigger downsides to FFXI imo.

You can get it at any video game store.

You can buy it pretty much anywhere and 16 Characters can be created (1 dollar extra for every character you create)

Who would actually recommend this as a good game, and that it would be worth raking out money for, every week? Because I'm unconvinced that it would be that good, to be constantly dishing out cash for it.

it's a monthly fee, not weekly. And I myself feel it's worth the cash

PS2 version never came for the PAL. This is one Final Fantasy that I'm happy for not having it as I'm no fan of MORPG games.

Oh yeah, forgot. Well, considering it didn't come out in Europe, then I shouldn't care anyway, cause I would of only got it on PS2.

It's not even worth getting it on PS2. If you aren't thinking of getting this game for PC or Xbox360 then don't get it at all -- and if you don't like MMO's then don't get it.

It's worth the monthly fee (it is actually one of the cheapest monthly fee'd MMO that is popular), only if you have the time to dedicate to it. It is a good game if you have the time.

So you have to pay?

Rostum

Yes, most MMORPG's you have to pay per month. If you don't know what an MMO is, go look it up.

I still hate the fact that it's the only FF, that you constantly pay for.

Its been five years. Two numbered FF's, a FF Tactics game, and countless FF VII continuations have been released since. Get. Over. It.

Is there another final fantasy where you can create your own character?

Its like 8 pounds a month, think how much you spend per month on other stuff. Its nothing.

But you should really give XI a chance though. C'mon it's only 12 bucks monthly >_>

It's not more than a couple of meals on Burger King or McD. You should be able to cover it with your allowance, it's just about what you prioritize. If you don't want to prioritize, ask around your neighbourhood if you can help someone out for extra money.

Play FFI then if you want the single player FFXI experience.

how can you get ff11 single player experiance by playing ff1?

Del Murder

He means if you want to play a single player FF, play one of the other ones.

UltimateSpamGrover
06-05-2007, 05:24 AM
Not exactly. FFI has the job system and the basic character creation system that FFXI took and evolved it from. FFI or FFV is the closest to single player FFXI that you will get because of the job systems.
