Don't know if anyone has heard about this, but anyone in the world can vote for the new Seven Wonders of the World. Figured I'd share the link and see what everything thought was deserving.

What are you picks? Mine are...

1. Stonehenge
2. Easter Island Statues
3. The Great Wall of China
4. Petra
5. Angkor
6. Christ Redeemer

The pictures there wasn't especially good, so it's tough to say anything about those I don't have much knowledge about already.

But here's my list so far, (I'll vote after I've google'd a bit):

The Acropolis
The Colosseum
Great Wall of China
Machu Picchu
Stonehenge
Sydney Opera House
Taj Mahal

You forgot the Pyramids too, btw. Maybe I'd replace them with one of the last two.

Well, since the Pyramids are the only original Wonder still standing, they named it as an honorary selection rather than one you could actually vote for.

Don't look at me, I don't make the rules!

Part of my choices isnt due to the largest or the oldest but by our monuments that have such an impact and become such apart of the countries they are within making them a wonder in there own right.

- Hagia Sophia (Full credit of it to Byzantium, not Turkey)
- The Acropolis
- Paris Opera House
- Windsor Castle (It just has that special something)
- Neuschwanstein Castle
- Big Ben
- Eifel Tower

Having looked through a bunch of lists of different 'wonders of the world', here's what I'd have...

1. Channel Tunnel
2. Panama Canal
3. The Internet
4. Petra
5. Great Wall of China

After this, it got a bit more difficult to figure out the final two.

6. Sistine Chapel
7. The Terracotta Army

I don't believe natural wonders should be included. That's a whole different ball game.

To me, a wonder of the world can't simply be something that fills you with fantasy - it has to be a unique achievement. Castles and palaces are all over the world, yet there is only one Great Wall of China. The internet? Obvious enough. Petra - a city carved from stone. The channel tunnel - a feat of modern engineering if ever there was one. The Panama Canal, connecting the mights of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, something which required moving more ground than would be moved to dig a tunnel to the center of the Earth 16m wide! Incredible. The Sistine Chapel - you think of it's ceiling alone and you are in awe, and that's just the tip of the iceberg in this building. And for anyone who hasn't heard of the Terracotta Army, you look it up and then tell me if you can think of something equaling that.

So yeah, those are my seven. Some of them aren't on the list, but oh well.

Hmm, some of them are hard to choose but my main quarrel with those wonders is that the Sagrada Familia (http://brianabbott.net/travels/spainmorocco/images/sagrada2.jpg) doesn't appear on that list. I know it isn't finished yet but if that isn't a wonder of the world I don't know what is.

what the fuck? why change them? the 7 wonders should be wonders. Like "how the fuck did they manage that at this time period?"
not taj mahal. that's a tomb. and build by man, it's architectual structure is exceedingly simple.
Bloody stupid
Edit: Great Wall, Stonehenge, and Easter Island is all that I voted for.

PS -> Those of you who voted for the statue of liberty. go fuck yourselves, you're all idiots, all 8 of you.
I don't care who you are. But i'll just say this. USA sucks, and there is nothing great about it. Least of all some :skull::skull::skull::skull:ty statue built by the french.
