I've been looking for a program (obviously opensource or freeware) which can record my desktop activities, saving them into a video WITH sound. Anything anyone can suggest?

Alternatively, any other ways of saving a YouTube video?

Thanks in advance.

AutoScreenRecorder 2.1 Pro

Records keystrokes, mouse movement, etc.. Not sure about Youtube videos. Demo version works well

Oh, that's cool. Thanks to both of you. I've been looking for one myself, yet couldn't google anything reasonable out.

You could always save the YouTube video to your PC and either play it with an FLV player or convert it to another format.

You'd need an extension for Firefox that can download the FLV files, such as VideoDownloader.

You'll have a better capture of the video; full screen captures lose a bit of quality. The only thing to watch out for is videos that have still pictures are likely to be badly out of sync with most of the FLV>whatever converters.
The Moyea FLV converter doesn't have this problem but it'll cost you money to not have a fat Moyea logo stamped on each frame. :p

You could try out Fraps, but I've only ever used it for games, so I'm not sure if it works with desktop activities.

Maybe I've explained myself inaccurately. I want to store what I see, at least an area of what I see, as a video file with sound. I don't need a program that catches out my mouse or keyboard activities. But, hey, thanks a bunch to all of above.^^
