Thanks to a few guys over at Second Life, Midgar is now open to play in Second Life.

You start in the city as either a warrior, a gunner or a caster. You can acquire materia to gain special abilities and you can join either the SOLDIER or AVALANCHE factions in a struggle to save the planet from getting itself sucked dry of Mako energy.

Hopefully no lawsuits will erupt and Midgar will stay in Second Life, and hopefully expand till we get the whole FFVII world going. Anyway, check out the pictures before anything.

Too bad Second Life is an absolute cesspool, otherwise I might be tempted to try that.

Well, I don't like FFVII so I still wouldn't, but it's a neat concept.

Second Life lost its novelty to me a few months back, but this is tempting. If a few EoFFers want to go check this out together and generally cause hateful mayhem across the grid, then I'd be down for that. I'd probably end up caging you all within five minutes though.

I was about to try this out today, but Second Life runs like crap on my computer, I don't know why. :(

Personally, I think these guys should use their mapping skills to make their own MMORPG of FFVII.

I as always am totally up for a laugh, but I must insist that if you must cage anyone that I be first to be caged.

I wonder if I can make a spira area   :love:You could, but it would take you a lot of time and money.

Awesome! I was always tempted to do something like this in SL (I have Cloud avvies and things) but never had the time or the land.

That, in combination with the new "3D design package" prims, might finally lure me back in - SL's so diverse I couldn't find anything to do and gave up due to the poor performance and bugs.

Is this on the normal grid or the teen grid though?
