Is it better than Excalibur and how do i get it?

I can't see how better the Tournesol would be compared to the Excalibur. Damage limit is only up to 9,999. I have the Wyrmhero Blade and I find that it's useless now that I've beaten everything.

Tournesol has no holy element.. therefore its effective on Ultima and the final hunt mob.

Excalibur is a powerful sword, but you only get one to my knowledge, which means having another powerful sword is good.

And two, the holy element.

The Excalibur is one of the best weapons in the game. It's a good substitute for those that are too lazy to get the Tournesol. Even though it is slightly weaker than Tournesol, it has the Holy Element, which is useful against a large majority of the enemies in XII, such as Undeads. However, it is also the Holy Element that could also make it bad in certain cases. The Ultima Esper and the final Mark Hunt absorb Holy. Also, all Elementals/Entites are immune/absorb Holy except for the Dark Elemental and the Leamonde Entite. Though you can still use it to attack these enemies with the Telekinesis technick, as it will ignore the Holy Element.

The Tournesol is also a very excellent weapon. It is stronger than Excalibur but has no Holy Element. It is also slightly weaker than the Zodiac Spear, but has higher chance of scoring multiple hits. It is also stronger than the Wyrmhero Blade, and has a MUCH faster Charge Time than it. But the Tournesol is the biggest pain in FFXII to get, with ingredients that are ridiculously hard to get. Though I'd definitely recommend you get it, if you have the patience.

Wyrmhero is useless. When you get it there's no one left to hunt :mad:

The two monsters are dead, all that I need is the minigame... its proving to be tiresome... but maybe someday.

Can I have a second Tournesol instead of the Wyrmhero blade I just spent time getting?

Now that Basch wields the wyrmhero blade... I feel sadly sadly disappointed. Sure it combos every hit almost, but the speed!

Ashe swings excalibur 2 times before Basch can lift the wyrmhero blade.
Its so sluggish it looks like he is swinging a tree trunk. To me, its a weaker Excalibur with a good combo rate, but thats personal opinion.

All that being said, Tournesol easily beats the wyrmhero blade :)
In the time I spent on the fishing game alone, Tournesol could easily be obtained.... or it sure seemed that way.

They could have left the charge time normal for as stated... by the time you get it, theres noting else to use it on.
