Does it have pics? Cuz I can't go to that site right now, and I'm quite anxious to see it.

I would be excited if Namco had already made a decent free roaming 3D fighting game, but they havent. Their best attempt was Devil Within in Tekken 5 and that wouldnt of been able to stand on its own two legs had it been released as a stand alone game. Hence, why this is going to be another lame spectacle of people mind-numbingly wailing there arms left and right to slash people on screen, as done in nearly every other action-adventure Wii game out.

There are no pics, but there's artwork. Notice that Sigfried is holding Soul Edge, and it looks different from before.

UPDATE: 1UP has the full scoop on Soul Calibur's next move -- read on.

We have little doubt Namco Bandai's working on a full-fledged fighting Soul Calibur sequel, but they're preparing a little diversion for the Nintendo fans in the audience: Soul Calibur Legends. Exclusive to the Wii platform, Soul Calibur Legends involves plenty of combat, but not in the traditional Soul Calibur sense -- this one's a third person action adventure.

The announcement suggests Seigfried takes point in the storyline, but Namco Bandai promises players will play their favorites from the series -- and even introduce some new faces, too. We know little of the story, though, other than understanding the characters come together to complete "a quest for ultimate power in order to save an empire from destruction."

"Over the past ten years, since the release of the original Soul Blade, the team behind the Soulcalibur series has pushed the envelope of technology and innovation with each iteration," said Makoto Iwai, exec. VP and COO of Namco Bandai America. "With Soulcalibur Legends, they saw the opportunity to once again create an immersive experience that is unique to the franchise."

The control scheme's being kept under wraps, but is said to incorporate both the Wiimote and nunchuck simultaneously. There should be something more than simply swinging the Wiimote around, just don't expect the same depth as the fighting series. As more fighting experience is gathered, however, players can earn titles (i.e. Knight, Soldier) that unlock additional attacks.

No word on when this one's arriving -- but enjoy some high-resolution artwork while we wait.

Agreed Dreddz. Death by Degrees anyone? (http://http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/918964.asp)

The only thing thats obvious is that I made a valid point which has upset you in some manner so you take the easy way out.

lol k

You compared a full-fledged game to a subgame, and then you said that everyone's going to be flailing their arms around, despite the fact that there has yet to be a game like this on Wii where you need to flail your arms around like an idiot.

Who cares if it was just a sub-game, its still an attempt at the genre. And Vivi22 mentioned Death by Degrees anyway, which is a fully fledged game, and still sucked. And by saying people will be flailing their arms about, I dont mean in the literal sense, which should of been obvious. I was just meaning that it'll be the same mechanics used in nearly every other action-adventure Wii title.

The mechanics used in other action-adventure Wii games have been pretty much like the mechanics used in any other action-adventure game with a few changes, most of which are optional.
