A new Star Ocean has been recently announced, with first details being shown at the Square Enix Party 2007 on May 12.

Most of you probably won't be able to tell, but basically, according to this site, a new Star Ocean game was announced during Square Enix Party 2007.


Sure, there's no real information on the game's setting or gameplay yet, or even what system it'll be on. But it doesn't matter. THERE'S GOING TO BE A NEW STAR OCEAN.

I heard about this a week or so ago, and I can't wait. They're going to have a Star Ocean event on the 12th to offically announce it and give out a few details. The singer of the game's theme song will be there as well. It's pretty much the highlight of the Square Enix Party for me. Yay Tri-Ace!

After the "4th Dimension" plot twist in SOIII, I was curious to see what the team could possibly do to top that. I only pray that you get to be some of the races from older games.

Screw that, If they are making a new game, if its for PS it better be PS3. I'm getting me one of those and want to fill it up with as many games as I can. If I'm spending 600 bucks on a system, I'm damn well hoping this goes to PS3. sure I've never played a Star ocean before, but thats beside the point.

I think this will be my first Star ocean though, as I don't really care for Till the end of time from what I saw.

There's been a lot of speculation that it may be for the Nintendo DS.

I'd certainly be happy with that. It'd be a shame, for me, if it came out on the 360 or (God forbid) the PS3. Star Ocean is one of the few series of games that could force my hand into buying a new console.

Definitely good great news though. I've played all of the Star Ocean games, except Blue Sphere, and not one has been bad. I expect great things.

Sadly, as much as I hate micro$$$$$$$$$$$oft, I agree. The 360 is clearly the superior system to engineer such a game or.

I could deal with a DS release, but I would rather see something on a much grander scale. EPIC like

It's very possible that it could be on the 360, as Eternal Sonata was developed for the 360. Still, we'll see.

Edit: Something bugs me a bit about the 'Second Evolution' screenshot. In the SO1 screenshot, we can see a portrait of Ratix, yet he still appears in the SO2 screenshot for some reason.
